I was going to say something about this also. Bernstein is saying these student-athletes aren't harmed because they can pick up their life and move to another school to get a degree from a different institution. Maybe they'd like to get a degree from PSU and play football. Giving them the option of moving is a hardship. Sure, it's an option but it may not be something that they actually want to do.

Right. Penn State is an institution and many people have an emotional connection to it. These people did nothing wrong. They didn't know jackshit about any child rape. And unlike bernstein, they don't associate child rape with their institution as if the fact that something bad happened there is its defining feature.

Maybe bernstein has no emotional connections to anything. I suspect he actually does, but it's his on-air persona to act as if he does not.
