I think I'm willing to put this Angels team as my favorite for the World Series at this point, this game aside. They have great top three pitching, and have some pretty awesome bats as well. I could see a LA/LA(Anaheim) series in the future.

I dont think the Angels will make the playoffs.

It shows.

He was arguing for ten minutes last night.

Even the Angels fans sitting next to me were telling him to shut up.

He's a boob.

Well, it didn't take Floyd long to start Floyding it up.

Damn Gavin is bad tonight and his not paying attention to Pujols at 1st kept them from getting a double play.

It's pretty amazing he only gave up 3 runs during that cluster fuck.

Ianetta and Wells let him off the hook by having 2 pretty bad ab's though Wells was 20 feet from putting him in a 7 run hole.

WGN's crowd mike is picking up some guy (not Some Guy, I think) constantly encouraging the team. It kinda sounds like Don Cooper, but I am allowing myself to fantasize that it is Aggravated Sox Fan Bob, cigar and all.

Man that Wells contract is some bad paper. I can't even remember when he last had anything resembling a good season.

Can't expect Thornton to get the job done in back to back games.

I think it's fairly obvious at this point that Thornton's days as an elite shut-down high leverage guy are in the rearview mirror.

Still, he's had a good run, maybe he's a LOOGY or a lower leverage guy. This was one of Williams' better trades, sending the failed FUTURE OF THE FRANCHISE Joe Borchard to SEA. Cooper actually did fix him [for a time]

Hopefully KW does the right thing and cut ties with Thornton and Floyd. Thornton has nothing left and is more of a liability in these close games.
Floyd is beyond repair and will never be a dependable pitcher, not even as a fifth or sixth starter. That game was winnable last night and Floyd again shits the bed. He's a mental case and if his curve isn't biting, it's BP time.

Floyd had a 4.26 ERA heading into last night's game (I think). I agree that he's just not consistent, and he'll continue to have those outings where he shuts down a team followed by a game like last night's, but to say he's not a 5th or 6th starter is a tad bit ridiculous. I think he's probably a #4 starter on AL teams, and a #3 in the NL.

He was the target of my irrational sports hate long before Matt Holliday found his way in my crosshairs...never felt like a lead was safe with him in the game...I still (as absurd and unfair as it may be) feel the best thing that happened to that team in 06 was for him to get hurt and have Wainwright move into the closers role.

The appearance of the ghost of Jason Isringhausen and the female singer screwing up "God Bless America" makes for a day of bad television
