They can hit, but the White Sox should be able to feast off that pitching staff.

Big day today with Sale going to the bump. Hopefully he just needs a little extra rest here and there. A Sox sweep would be oh so nice as they've got their best 3 guys pitching;

Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox

Monday, August 6, 7:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Luis Mendoza, RHP 5-7, 4.32 ERA
Chris Sale, LHP 12-3, 2.61 ERA

Tuesday, August 7, 7:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Bruce Chen, LHP 7-9, 5.66 ERA
Jake Peavy, RHP 9-7, 3.04 ERA

Wednesday, August 8, 7:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Jeremy Guthrie, RHP 0-3, 7.71 ERA
Jose Quintana, LHP 4-1, 2.80 ER

Well, reality has set in for the Royals. The one thing to avoid is a letdown after the White Sox took 2 out of 3 from the Angels.

That is what you said, SHARK, when the Sox were scuffling a little bit in mid June. "It was fun while it lasted." Us Sox fans that had sense told you to chill out and that they would right the ship. We have been proven correct.

I'm glad I've been proven wrong. These White Sox are better than I thought. Robin Ventura: AL Manager of the Year? Could be...

Yeah, SJ, that's the word from The Trib's White Sox writer Mark Gonzales' Twitter moments ago. Not sure if Jordan Danks leads off instead of De Aza or if the lineup is adjusted.

Batting .296, 3 HR's, 18 RBI's & 4 Stolen Bases, and I think Lorenzo Cain splits time in CF with Jarrod Dyson.

Jordan Danks, subbing for Alejandro De Aza in CF tonight, will lead off for the White Sox. The rest of the original lineup stays in tact. It's believed De Aza has a sore back which explains why he's been scratched.

It's pretty amazing that Sale can have this kind of command with a nine day layoff. Now lets get him a few more runs.

The Royals' Ned Yost has shuffled his starting lineup. Here's how they'll deal with the White Sox' Jake Peavy, complete with notable changes in BOLD type.

4 Alex Gordon LF (L)
17 Chris Getz 2B (L)
8 Mike Moustakas 3B (L)
16 Billy Butler DH (R)
21 Jeff Franceour RF (R)
27 Brayan Pena C (S)
35 Eric Hosmer 1B (L)
34 Tony Abreu SS (S)
1 Jerrod Dyson CF (L)

Starting Pitcher: 52 Bruce Chen (LHP)

Alejandro De Aza is out of tonight's White Sox lineup vs. the Royals' Bruce Chen. Here are the nine that'll deal with Chen:

15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
32 Adam Dunn DH (L)
14 Paul Konerko 1B (R)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R)
7 Jordan Danks CF (L)
66 Ray Olmedo 3B (S)

Starting Pitcher: 44 Jake Peavy (RHP)

This is a REVISED lineup. A sore right knee now sidelines 3B Kevin Youkilis. Ray Olmedo makes his White Sox debut at 3B, and guess who leads off tonight? That's right...2B Gordon Beckham.

Bruce Chen and that lineup have 1-0 final written all over it
