If you beat SHARK to the punch in this thread, you succeeded. I thought we were all friends on this board...

All this shrieking about how Urlacher is done and it doesn't even matter than he's done because if it matters that he's done then the Bears are done is kind of depressing. I think I'm done. Guess we're all in on Duracell Marshall (get it because battery) if we want the Bears to make the playoffs.

Back to i101. Let me know when they talk more Penn State!

"Likely" in this context makes no sense to me. Urlacher's a lock for the Hall IMO. Maybe I'm wrong?

Urlacher is a lock to be in the HOF. Boers may need to send his partner a TV.

To this point, all we have is speculation and/or educated guesses as to Urlacher's health. If he's truly healthy, and ready to play in September, he's still a Pro Bowl player.

The one thing I can't wait for is the stories about Urlacher filing bankruptcy. It should take less than 2 years after he retires. I recall when he forced the Bears hand for a one year extension midway through his contract basically because he had blown all his money. When he did that, I knew he was going broke and that regardless of how much he makes, he will be broke soon after his career is over.

I love nothing more than tales of athletes blowing all their money and going b/k. I especially wish it upon greedy athletes. He had 4 years left on his contract and forced the Bears hand. He won in the short run. But you could give him $200M, and he would probably blow it all Tyson style.

The reason I enjoy all this is because it proves that giving people "easy" money doesn't really improve their lot in life. It happens with lottery winners all the time. They usually have a short burst of fun, and then end up in a bad spot.

I love to seeing successful people who get wealthy because they truly earn it through hard work. I don't view most athletes through that prism. Sure many work hard, but they have been given natural talents that allow them to coast through life. I have the same level of respect for their wealth as I do for someone who inherits it or is handed it by their rich parents.

I hope that helps.

I guess so RPB. Do you enjoy the way Urlacher treats the media with that arrogant, "yes" "no" to questions? A lot of athletes act like complete jags, and I do get a kick out of it when life catches up with them.

There's a loving in your eyes all the way.
If I listened to your lies would you say
I'm a man (a man) without conviction,
I'm a man (a man) who doesn't know
How to sell (to sell) a contradiction.
You come and go, you come and go.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
You come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
Red gold and green, red gold and green.

Didn't hear your wicked words every day
And you used to be so sweet, I heard you say
That my love (my love) was an addiction.
When we cling (we cling) our love is strong.
When you go (you go) you're gone forever.
You string along, you string along.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
You come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
Red gold and green, red gold and green.

Every day is like survival (sur-vi-val),
You're my lover (you're my lover), not my rival.

It was only a few years ago when the ONLY media member Brian Urlacher would talk to was FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer. Man, Urlacher was beyond surly!

I PREDICT Bears will hugely miss Urlacher and B&B will be making fun of Roach after week 1.
