That didn't work out too well. Danks and this Olmedo character isn't murders row or anything but I'd still like to see them swing the bat.

3 ER in 6.2 innings equates to a 4.05 ERA....Not quite spectacular is that? Wearing down from the innings logged to date. Not managed properly.

Hawk cracked me up last night -- after Herrera threw a pitch with some wild movement, Stone said it may have been a changeup or a splitter. Then Hawk responded, "or a spitter, or a greaser."

Well, C.C. Sabathia goes to the bump tonight for the Yankees in Detroit. Needless to say, C.C.'s got to get it done for the Yanks this eve.

I'm more worried about how Quintana reacts to this long layoff, SHARKY.

That's a good point. He toes the rubber vs. the Royals' Jeremy Guthrie tonight.

Might Gordon Beckham be pressed into the leadoff spot again tonight? It's unclear if either CF Alejandro De Aza (sore back) or 3B Kevin Youkilis (sore knee) will be in the lineup this eve. With both out last night, Beckham was pressed into service in the #1 spot and scored BOTH White Sox runs vs. Bruce Chen. Too bad it wasn't nearly enough.

Agreed. I think the Sox will light Guthrie up today but the Quintana storyline is much more important

The Tony Abreu experiment continues for the Royals. Check out tonight's Royals' lineup vs. lefty Jose Quintana:

4 Alex Gordon LF (L)
2 Alcides Escobar SS (R)
6 Lorenzo Cain CF (R)
16 Billy Butler DH (R)
13 Salvador Perez C (R)
8 Mike Moustakas 3B (L)
21 Jeff Franceour RF (R)
35 Eric Hosmer 1B (L)
34 Tony Abreu 2B (S)

Starting Pitcher: 33 Jeremy Guthrie (RHP)

Hey, why don't you shut the fuck up and stay out of White Sox business.

Thanks.

The lineup is in for tonight's finale of the Royals' series. There are 2 notable White Sox sitting this one out. Here's how they'll deal with Jeremy Guthrie:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
32 Adam Dunn 1B (R)
20 Kevin Youkilis 3B (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R)
7 Jordan Danks RF (L)
5 Orlando Hudson DH (S)

Starting Pitcher: 62 Jose Quintana (LHP)

It doesn't look too nice out. Are they gonna get this one in tonight, SHARKY?

According to the Trib's Mark Gonzales' Twitter, the infield is partially covered. There is rain in the forecast tonight. If it's rained out, they won't play tomorrow. The Royals start a series with the Orioles in Baltimore tomorrow night.

That's an Ozzie move to have Hudson DH.

Actually, Orlando Hudson has a .400 career BA vs. tonight's KC starter, Frank. That's Jeremy Guthrie.

You are correct though. Orlando DH-ing appears Ozzie-esque to me. Consider this however. The SCORE's own Chris Rongey feels that the White Sox need to utilize their bench more, something RV hasn't done that much this season. Other than occasionally sitting 2B Gordon Beckham for Hudson, SS Alexei Ramirez for Eduardo Escobar, now with Minnesota, along with Tyler Flowers giving A.J. Pierzynski a breather behind the plate, there have been very few changes in RV's starting lineup. The only reasons why CF Alejandro De Aza & 3B Kevin Youkilis have sat out was due to injuries, not necessarily rest.

By the way, according to BOTH the Trib's Mark Gonzales & CSNChicago.com's Dan Hayes respective Twitters, Alex Rios is sitting tonight due to back stiffness. Not considered too serious, but enough to sit out tonight's game.

The SCORE's own Chris Rongey is wrong.

A lot.

I don't think he's off base regarding the bench though, or lack thereof.

I do.

I want the best players playing unless there's an injury.

TP, that's why Jordan Danks started the first 2 games of the Royals' series in CF for Alejandro De Aza and will play RF for Alex Rios tonight, not to mention the rarely-used Ray Olmedo at 3B last night for Kevin Youkilis. It wasn't as much rest as it was injury that prompted such changes.
