That November Deadspin article is the most damning thing for Pegula. He hired his long time friend, Benson, for some community role with the Sabres. Benson was involved in a few children's charities - including 2nd mile. As soon as Sandusky was arrested, Pegula changed Benson's bio on the Sabres website. He took down Benson's assosiation with 2nd mile. Was Benson the "go between" for Sandusky and Pegula?

Here it is again.

Here is a pretty detailed bio on Benson. Pegula's "close confidant".

Check out some of the big time Pennsylvania companies he worked for. Also take note that, along with being involved with 2nd mile, he formed something called "Hockey in the Hood". It is a hockey camp for "underprivileged, inner city kids." Does that playbook sound familiar? You think maybe he learned something from Jerry?

Last paragraph of his bio:

Benson is passionate about serving the community and has been actively involved in charitable organizations for most of his career – primarily those that benefit inner city children with limited opportunities. He is affiliated with Quaker Valley Hockey Association, Imani Christian Academy (Board Chair), Pittsburgh Kids Foundation , Silver Ring Thing and The Second Mile (Finance Chair). Cliff was privileged to make three trips to Haiti bringing medical relief following the 2010 earthquake.

That's an awful lot of children's charities.

Mark Madden. Remember him? He's the one that had the rumor about 2nd mile boys being pimped out to big time donors. Looks like he knew a lot more, but didn't want to say.

Here's the story with his exact quote.
http://www.nesn.com/2012/08/report-fbi-investigating-jerry-sandusky-pedophile-ring.html

Madden is a talk show host in Pittsburgh. That's where this Benson set up the "Hockey in the Hood" charity. It's now called "Pittsburgh Ice".

Somebody on the NESN.com message board said that's why the Penn State officials covered it up. Cuz they'd lose a huge donor.

Here you go.

Terry Pergula donated $205,000 to Tom Corbett’s gubernatorial campaign.
http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2010/09/30/pegula_and_marcellus_shale.aspx

Tom Corbett allowed a 3 million dollar grant to "The 2nd Mile" even though he knew about the Sandusky grand jury proceedings.

Deadspin wrote about campaign donations from 2nd mile people to Corbett
http://deadspin.com/5859802/past-and-present-board-members-of-the-second-mile-gave-a-combined-20178364-to-gov-corbetts-2010-campaign

On the bottom it shows that Cliff Benson gave $750. Once again, Benson is the guy that Pegula hired when he bought the Sabres. The guy that's been involved with 5 kid charities.

In reading up on some commentary about these knew allegations, a few people have mentioned "The Franklin Scandal". I had never heard of it, but it was similar to this alleged Sandusky ring. Some people have said the Reagan and Bush administrations were involved in this ring. Though it was never proven.

Here's the Summary:

The FRANKLIN SCANDAL is the story of a nationwide pedophile ring that pandered children to a cabal of the rich and powerful. The ring’s pimps were a pair of political powerbrokers who had access to the highest levels of our government. Nebraska legislators nearly exposed the ring in 1990, but its unveiling had the potential to produce seismic political aftershocks. The legislators’ efforts resulted in rash of mysterious deaths and the overpowering corruption of federal and local law enforcement, including the FBI, Secret Service, and Justice Department, effecting an immaculate cover-up of the trafficking network.

I've tried several different key words to find Penn State boosters. I can't find a list. You'd think that info would be out there. I want to see if it could be somebody else.

But Radaronline used the words "Rich and powerful" to describe this alleged rape partner of Sandusky. That's why I think it has to be Terry Pegula. Powerful was the key word. This guy has influence. It's obvious in reading about him. He's worth 3.2 billion.

Maybe you guys can do better. Try to find Penn State boosters via search engines. Give me some other names. That's your mission, should you choose to accept it.

GO!!!!

So nobody cares, huh? OK. Give you guys an important assignment and I get nothing. Ask for a little help and you guys say "fuck you". Fine.

As always, I'll go down the road alone. Here I go again.

Not funny.

I found a list of famous Penn State alumni. It doesn't mean that they are boosters.

No new information on this story. I'd imagine we'll get more info on Monday or maybe even an arrest some time next week.

Radaronline is the only one that has this source. Or maybe the only one willing to report it.

How many big time boosters could Penn State have? How many "rich and powerful" boosters? 3 or 4? Maybe even less than that. So they pretty much just gave it up. Terry Pegula is the only one that fits.

I'm sure they have hundreds of boosters. But not many that fit this description.

You may be surprised. the Penn State alumni network is one of the largest in the world. I have heard a rumor (again, only a rumor) that when the 60 million fine was levied against Penn State a booster offered to pay the whole thing, under one condition: the president and the board resign.

Why can't you find a list of that network anywhere? You'd think they'd be proud and have a website or something. Maybe they did, and took it down after Sandusky got discovered. I'm sure a lot of them are involved.

the PSU Alumni association has over 100,000 members. That's a long list.

They do have an alumni assosiation. It's detailed on the Penn State website. But that's different than being a booster. None of these people are "Prominent or powerful". There has to be less than a handful that give tens of millions to the school.

Most schools' boosters are not listed somewhere, they are unoffical university people. That's part of the problem with boosters and the trouble they cause the NCAA. If you find any official list for Penn State or any school, I'd be impressed.

Well, this Pegula wasn't trying to hide in the shadows. Penn State didn't try to hide him. The hockey stadium was named after him and he was at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Paterno wrote him a nice letter thanking him. He was quoted talking about the Sandusky scandal.

The whole notion of being a "booster" is so creepy. Even the word itself sounds icky. I wouldn't be surprised if half the athletic boosters were pederasts. When you're giving away twenty million dollars at a time to help a football program "sculpt promising young men," I'm sure at least one million of that is earmarked for getting a beej from some rough trade and keeping it hushed.

Agreed. Plus if you look through history there is a creepy aspect of rich, elite white men and an attraction to boys and/or young men.

I cited the Franklin scandal, but this goes back to the beginning of time. Back to ancient rome, greece (It's why the Olympics were started) and the Catholic church. It's a sick subculture society.

Everyone needs to be more vigilant. You gotta profile people. I'll go back to the Cliff Benson with the Buffalo Sabres. Anytime you see somebody with a life long dedication to 5 children's charities (Especially his thing for underprivelleged kids) an alarm should go off and it needs to be investigated. So what if you're wrong. I'd rather error on the side of caution.

The Catholic church gave us the playbook. Sandusky copied it. I'm sure hundreds of unknowns are employing it right now. So everybody should be looking for it at all times.

I found this on a Buffalo Sabres message board.

They brought up concerns of a Pegula/Benson connection to Penn State in a discussion back in November.

I agree with both statements. Probably a first for Beardown and me.
