Other than the 2 Adam Dunn homers & Jake Peavy's quality start, 8 innings of 2-run ball that resulted in a no-decision, the White Sox offense was just that last night...offensive. 16 K's by White Sox hitters, none by Dunn, but the golden sombrero by CF Alejandro De Aza and the hat trick by BOTH C Tyler Flowers & 2B Gordon Beckham. Those 3 combined for 10 of the 16 Sox strikeouts vs. Blue Jays' pitching. Not good.

If Speeps wouldnt have jinxed them this never would have happened. They would probably have won 145-3.

I don't know how "Wise" RV is, but the journeyman outfielder is in the lineup tonight for the White Sox this eve vs. the Blue Jays' Henderson Alvarez. Needless to say, there's a noticeable shakeup listed below:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L)
28 Dewayne Wise LF (L)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
32 Adam Dunn 1B (L)
20 Kevin Youkilis 3B (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
24 Dayan Viciedo DH (R)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
Starting Pitcher: 62 Jose Quintana (LHP; 4-2, 2.75 ERA)

As for the Jays vs. Quintana:

11 Rajai Davis LF (R)
28 Colby Rasmus CF (L)
10 Edwin Encarnacion DH (R)
30 David Cooper 1B (L)
5 Yunel Escobar SS (R)
14 Moises Sierra RF (R)
2 Kelly Johnson 2B (L)
6 Jeff Mathis C (R)
3 Adeiny Hechavarria 3B (R)
Starting Pitcher: 37 Henderson Alvarez (RHP; 7-9, 4.58 ERA)

No doubt AJ threw that ball in the middle of his back on purpose.

Another nice outing for Quintana. He just keeps rolling along. Now how about scoring a few more runs to make this a little easier on the bullpen.

Isn't this a bitch? May as well shut Sale down right now if you're going to let this clown blow the season.

Wooo. Reeder had some giddy up on that one. I'd still feel a lot better with a few more runs on the board. Middle of the order.

I like the stuff and makeup Reed has, but he needs a change up or something else slow.

He has a changeup and it's pretty good. When he was going through that rough patch about a month ago he started to throw it a lot more. Now it looks like he's back to throwing everything hard.

Rasmus was a late scratch.

Chus, I didn't know about that until gametime. Colby Rasmus did pinch hit, got a single & was promptly pinch run by 45-year old Omar Vizquel in the bottom 9th last night. Rasmus looked awfully slow getting to 1st. I wouldn't be shocked if he's not in tonight's lineup.

Before last night's game in Toronto, it was learned that the White Sox have signed journeyman infielder Jose Lopez to a minor-league deal. Lopez was recently released by Cleveland, but split time last season in Colorado & Miami. A career .262 hitter with 92 homers in 9 MLB seasons, Lopez can play all 4 infield positions. Something Orlando Hudson & Ray Olmedo can't.

The lineups are in, and a 45 year-old infielder is at third base tonight for the Blue Jays. Here's how Toronto lines up vs. the White Sox' Gavin Floyd:

TOR:
11 Rajay Davis RF (R) .263
28 Colby Rasmus DH (L) .250
10 Edwin Encarnacion LF (R) .294
30 David Cooper 1B (L) .286
5 Yunel Escobar SS (R) .248
2 Kelly Johnson 2B (L) .230
17 Omar Vizquel 3B (S) .213
6 Jeff Mathis C (R) .216
43 Anthony Gose CF (L) .190
Starting Pitcher: 24 Ricky Romero (LHP, 8-9, 5.32 ERA)

As for the White Sox, Orlando Hudson might be on borrowed time with this roster. He does start tonight in the following lineup vs. lefty Ricky Romero for Toronto:

CHW:
30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L) .282
20 Kevin Youkilis 3B (R) .239
32 Adam Dunn 1B (L) .208
51 Alex Rios RF (R) .311
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L) .298
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R) .260
24 Dayan Viciedo DH (R) .252
28 Dewayne Wise LF (L) .275
5 Orlando Hudson 2B (S) .178
Starting Pitcher: 34 Gavin Floyd (RHP, 8-9, 4.43 ERA)

Lineup changes in BOLD along with players' batting averages at start of game in italics.

Yikes, there's an 0-8 at the bottom of the lineup. Wise sucks. He has no business being on an MLB team at this point. Shoulda just let Jordan Danks get the at bats.

It's been 6 years since the Sox won back to back games in Toronto??

Wow.

Huge win and the lead stays at 2 games. That was the game I was most worried about. Romero usually owns the Sox. Big start for Liriano tomorrow for the series win.

I know he's not very good, but DeWise is one of my top 5 favorite White Sox of all time. I'm not joking and I'm not doing a bit. I love the guy. Glad Kenny brought him back.

Wise is fine. He was good enough to be the fourth outfielder for the Yankees all season. I think he's good enough to do it for the White Sox. I do think he's pretty similar to Jordan Danks, but if I have to have a hit, I'd much rather take my chances with Wise.

What's not to love about him? He plays hard. He maxes out on his ability. He is thankful to be in MLB and he particularly loves playing for the Sox. He is like Pete Meyers in pale hose.

I feel better about bringing him in a playoff pinch hitting situation than Jordan Danks. However, next year I want Jordan to be the 4th OF over Wise.

On yesterday's postgame Garfein suggested that Floyd was better on the road because he has a lower ERA to go with his 2-6 record. Big Frank knew how goddamn dumb that was but he didn't feel like arguing with Our Chuck.

#28 Dewayne Wise, Columbia, S.C. Would you believe Wise went 2 for 4 with a homer & 4 RBI's last night in the White Sox 9-5 winner over the Blue Jays? The real fun happens tomorrow when Paul Konerko is activated from the 7-day DL and the Sox have to make a move before the ballgame.

The Sox might have to make another roster move. Backup 2B Orlando Hudson suffered a bruised toe and was replaced by Gordon Beckham in the bottom 6th. Hudson's X-rays were negative, but the newly signed Jose Lopez, just released by the Indians, might be en route to either Toronto or Kansas City to join the Southsiders. He's currently at Triple "A" Charlotte.
