I like Seagram's, Schweppes, and Canada Dry about equally, but Vernor's is a little much for me. It's almost like ginger ale concentrate.

The Canada Dry with green tea is pretty good. I've never had Vernor's.

Damn man. How many times over the last 3 years have they made fun of Beckham for being really bad. Beckham Camp jokes? Ever heard those?

Maybe I should make a joke about getting it on with IMU. Would that be fresh and new?

I do see what you did there Brick.

But to answer your question: No. It's not even fresh and new when I do those jokes.

Anyways, it was a joke, and IMU went all IMU and got all mad about it. I do it to a lot of people.

I've done much worse to him than that and given some of things he's done to other posters I don't really think he should be the sympathetic figure that plays the "hurt little sister" card.

It's amusing to me that station's editorial stance on hockey swings between befuddlement and hostility. Who can figure out this zany sport!? Where did the term "hat trick" come from? Hoo boy, here come the hockey fans! Fighting is stupid! No, you shut up! OK YOU'RE ALL RACIST NO MORE HOCKEY TALK EVER.

Credit for self-awareness, I guess. No one at the Score knows dick about the NFL either, but they sure seem to think differently.

I'm amused that one game consisting of "advance across demarcated rectangle to put playing implement into designated location" is written off as utterly inscrutable, while at the same time the station jerks itself off for seven hours a day over the enlightenment that Matt Bowen has brought them. Look at the Mike hitting landmarks!

I think by "amused" I meant "bemused." Also, "irritated."

1. I'm gonna take a guess at Bernstein's source. I think it's Len Casper. Think about it. Theo's people hate Bernstein. Theo also runs a tight ship. His people wouldn't talk to anybody. I think Casper has always been Bernstein's source on Cubs stuff. Casper and Bernstein have always struck me as friends the way they talk to each other.

2. Why don't they do an entire show blasting Castro for drinking all night? Could it be cuz he's not white?

I don't believe that these guys have multiple sources for every team or situation providing them with information. I think their "source" for most news is twitter. Boers repeats everything after the fact as something he new, whether it's knowing that Joe Paterno was a horrible person or this latest information about Castro.

Terry likes to throw things out to be part of the conversation. I don't think he knows anything about Castro's off-the-field activities.

I think people have sort of realized what they're getting with Beckham. With Castro, all the talk was about his potential upside as an offensive player, that he'll get stronger and develop into a 15-20 HR guy, and there wasn't any (or much) thought to seeing his batting average drop.

Did they even mention the rape allegation? That would seem to be a big thing being left out of the conversation, especially since they had no problem gossiping whether Kane hit a women when he was out.

That's true. I was just being Cubbie sensitive.

You can still be a lush and be a hall of fame type player...Mickey Mantle and Miguel Cabrera are two examples..Castro is having a decent season.. batting 276 with no protection around him. Castro will be fine.

This is the same type of argument they made about Hamilton. Somehow they have forgotten that players go through slumps. Look at Puljos how he started & where he is now.

If a player is underperforming, he's either off the steroids, tired from all-night drinking and fucking, or both. Or Caucasian.

Well, there's really no such thing as "protection". But I think you're going to see that a shortstop who bats .280 with 15 homeruns and fields the position is going to be a premium player in the coming years. I'm just not sure Castro can field the position. And he doesn't have enough power to be a top guy at third or on an outfield corner.

You're a SABRmetric guy. If you think protection is real it throws off every stat. How can we judge two hitters equally if one has "protection" and the other does not? The only think "protection" might achieve is to make a guy walk a little more often, and in this day and age when batting average is "meaningless" that will show up in his OBP.

Rich Aurrellia's PED's prolly had more to do with that than Bonds' giant ( hehe) head.

Of course it does. So does a lot of other things. There are basically limitless circumstances than can affect stats. Its an ongoing battle of analysis. Just like any other type of analysis.

I think hitting in front of Legendary hitters like Bonds, Pujols, Rizzo, or Ruth causes a higher fastball percentage

I don't know if that's true or not, but regardless, there's a mountain of evidence that suggests it doesn't matter.

There is far more evidence that Wins dont matter.

I dont believe in every single SABRmetric take on everything. Just overall, I think its a good way of looking at things.

Stats cant control a lot of things.

SABRmetrics also suggest that there is no such thing as clutch.

We both know how ridiculous that is.

Certain things are not measurable by numbers.
