1. I'm gonna take a guess at Bernstein's source. I think it's Len Casper. Think about it. Theo's people hate Bernstein. Theo also runs a tight ship. His people wouldn't talk to anybody. I think people have sort of realized what they're getting with Beckham. With Castro, all the talk was about his potential upside as an offensive player, that he'll get stronger and develop into a 15-20 HR guy, and there wasn't any (or much) thought to seeing his batting average drop.

You can still be a lush and be a hall of fame type player...Mickey Mantle and Miguel Cabrera are two examples..Castro is having a decent season.. batting 276 with no protection around him. Castro will be fine.
