Today, on the B&B show, the discussion somehow turned to "Relevant Idiots" and that smarmy Goff said "Da Ma Na".

Even Bernstein told Goff that he was gonna get in trouble for that when Mac comes back.

I think Goff has some nerve. Really. Mac allows him to guest on his show yet this punk ass bitch always has to needle him while standing behind Bernstein. Always!!! I mean he can't stop. It's some sick obsession or vendetta or both.

Goff's response will be that Mac should just take it. He'd say it's all in good fun and that he loves Mac. (That's always his bullshit defense.) Yet Goff is the first one to cry whenver anybody gives him any criticism. Even if it's justified or constructive.

Goff says "DaaMaaNeeeel" after everything such that it doesn't even mean anything anymore.

Just a hypothetical situation here:

Let's say Spiegs is out for whatever reason and it's time for Mac to pick his new partner. Even if he's kind of OK with Goff's "Da Ma Na" weirdness, Mac still knows it's meant to mock and insult him a good portion of the time. Why the hell would he want to be partners with someone that clearly takes joy in insulting him for whatever reason? Don't tell me this doesn't make sense.

Shit like this makes the difference. Relationships matter everywhere, but it seems to be more important in radio.

Ballbusting is a fine art. I am sure Mac has heard many times Goff drop a Danmeneal, and it's usually well timed and funny.

It really comes back to Larry's awkward social ability. Sure he tries to be "friends" with guys but it just doesnt work out.

Sometimes, 2 people can say the exact same thing to someone, one can come off as an asshole and the other as a funny guy. Larry just happens to be the first.

It's not just thinking about Mac influence if you're Goff.

Every media employer in town probably listens to the B&B show. Goff is on audition for everybody, yet he doesn't think about it.

These people hear his disgusting behavior, his insults, his ignorant/uninformed comments and his attacks on everybody and they say, "Why would we want to hire this?"

Larry, on the other hand, knows the game. He's a jerk to insignificant people (his producrs) and is the suck up, ass licker to significant people (Bernstein, Bears players, Mitch, The NBC 5 GM)

Larry knows how to kiss the ass of important people, I'll say that much for him. It keeps him around despite being bad. That being said, I'm sure his ass kissing rub some people in the industry the wrong way.

There's a perfect medium on how you should act before Chicago's media elite if you are trying to make it. Somewhere between Goff's "Attack and insult everybody" and Larry's "Suck off everybody".

I've heard Mac, Bernstein and Boers take friendly jabs at Goff and it gets his dander up in a hurry. He cries like a bitch and gets defensive. He's very sensitive to any sort of attack or criticism of him.

You gotta take if you give it out like, Goff. He can't. He's too insecure.

Probably doesn't bother Mac all that much. I heard today I think though a little too much fun at his substance issues and a Daaan MaaaNeal then. That would bother me if I were him.

Mac posted about that here when Goff was going wild with the "Da Ma Na" while Mac was in rehab. Mac kind of indicated he wasn't very pleased. Mac said he never heard any of it, but people from his camp told him about it. Mac's people thought Goff was mocking his addiction and rehab. Goff came on here quickly to put out the fire and tell everybody he loves Mac.

Of course he did lol. But its like my 12 y/o son that keeps saying the same dumb thing over and over and over while I say quit it. He then wonders why I crack him to the back of the head and say I warned you.

That's part of it. I also thinks it's just the B&B culture that has rubbed off on the B&B producers. I don't listen to the other shows much, do the other producers hop on the air to insult, bitch, cry and act a fool like drinky and Goff? I'm telling you, they get their cue from B&B. B&B have been a tremendous influence on Drinky and Goff. They just get caught up in the fun of being ass holes. Saying "Fuck you" is like breathing to everybody on "Team Bernstein". That's what that show is about.

Like I said, B&B are made men with tenure, status and security. I don't think it's wise for the producers to behave this way. I don't think it helps them.

BB has producers? What do they do? Answer the phone once an hour, find some old crazy racist white guys and tell Danny to talk to them.

Well, its either that or "Grandma radio" from back in their days as weekend hosts.

It's not just the actual cracks that Goff gives to Mac.

I think there is a certain expectation that the subordinate shows a little damn respect to a senior officer. I mean Mac is 20 years older than Goff and has 20 years of full time talk show hosting experience to Goff's 0.

It's one thing if B&B are jacking up Mac. It's another thing if it's Goff. I would think this, more than the actual insults, would offend Mac.

Seriously, maybe I've missed it, what the hell has Mac ever done to Goff to deserve it?

Its akin to some mail room hack being allowed to bust the corporate executives balls. If I were Mac, Id tell Mitch or Jason himself to go pound sand next time the chance comes up to co-host.

Drink and Larry are Goff's acutal friends, right? You ever hear him crack wise on either of them? Of course not. Never. Why? If they are his friends, it would be accepted, right? Lord knows there is more to crack on Larry than Mac. Drinky too. Goff wouldn't do it to his friends, so why Mac? Why so relentless? That means it's more mean spirited than some of you say.

Still, Goff is at least friendly enough not to use Bernstein's show to do Larry and Drinky like he does Mac.

Goff is not friendly, he thinks he is the alpha male of those 3.
