Bernstein reminds me of this one SNL skit from back in the day. There was a guy in the office who was somehow acting a fool, and another guy told him off, finishing with "I'll see you in hell!" Everyone congratulated him, and he started using the phrase "I'll see you in hell" with increasing regularity, until finally, it was his standard response: "Hey Mark" "See you in hell."

Like the "see you in hell" guy, Bernstein wants to preserve what he perceives as his greatest glory, and relive it each day. But as with "see you in hell," eventually it just stops being appropriate or even relevant.

Last day of training camp South of the Eisenhower Mason Dixon Line. Final public practice. Last one of these updates.
- ZZ feigns ignorance over the 54/McCartney split. Dumb
- ZZ accuses Terry of drinking on the job. Loonier than usual apparently.
- ZZ wants to see plays where Evan Rodriguez can "shine in space".
- ZZ thinks Bears will be different team in the red zone this year. Thinks Cutler would agree with him. Big receivers, big TEs, big back in Bush.
- ZZ states Forte is in best shape of his life. Slimmer and faster. Running ball differently, different technique. Running a bit lower which should benefit him.
- ZZ states Clutts is probably not making opening day roster. Same for Unga.
- ZZ has learned on offense Brandon Marshall has had impressive camp. Bears must have best offense in YOUR lifetime for Bears to win division and Super Bowl in 2012. Potential for Marshall to lose a screw, but enough pieces around him to keep that from happening. Also, Jeffrey as WR learned from Marshall. He is a 3rd down and Red Zone threat. Both look like basketball players and can catch the ball. Expect career numbers from Bennett. Remember, last year they scored 27 points in first 10 games with Forte and Cutler playing.
- ZZ on the Defense: Jennings good camp, Major Major is practicing, so healthy enough to take out another Bear, safeties aren't as experienced in reading opposing offenses so there will be big issues if D-line cannot get pressure on QBs. Safeties could be a screw.
