There's no chance that a 4K screen resolution can be playable, at least comfortably.
I have a hard time handling anything over 50 inches.
The screens don't have to be bigger to fit more pixels.

4k native for games? That would require some majorly expensive hardware to produce. I mean, 2560x1600 is about the tops for a game like Crysis 2 w/ high settings and an AMD 7970 and a Core i7 + 8 GB's of DDR3 RAM, that will put out around 40FPS.
With a console you have to worry about packaging, power consumption and heat.
If they plan on doing it I would be interested to see how they package it and keep it affordable. Sony can't have debut another 600 dollar console.
The new 600 series from nVidia does much better than 40 FPS on DX11 Crysis 2.
edit: GTX690
2560x1600, DX11, Ultra settings
68 FPS average
5760 x 1080, DX11, Ultra settings
47 FPS average
4K would be about the same performance as (3) panoramic monitors running 1080p.
GTX690 is a dual GPU card, right? Cost, power, heat, packaging etc means no way that goes into a console.
