There is some school of thought that the training methods used by Chris Doyle help drive up these injuries to running backs, especially the ACLs. That they strain the tendons so much doing complex lifts that they lead to issues down the road.

Now the bright side to this is that it will force Greg Garmon on the field faster and he appears to be the real deal.

The old way of practicing has gone by the wayside. People were getting way too injured before the season began. And it seems to me that the Iowa City police need to calm the F down. Either that or the Northwestern strategy of recruiting "character" kids is something that Ferentz might want to emulate.
