My point is not that Lebron is great. Steve Nash is great. Charles Barkley was great. About 10 players a decade can be called great.

My point is, that in my opinion, that this was the first game in a series of great performances that will put him on the same level as Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Dr. J as the face of a decade plus of basketball.

If everyone has already penciled him in as the greatest player since Jordan than I guess I am late to the party.

Best all around player - you can make that argument.
By far - No.
Duncan is as good a PF as there ever was. As a matter of fact you can make an argument that the gap between Kobe & the 2nd best SG is narrower than the gap between Duncan & the 2nd best PF.

Personally, knowing what I know now, If I traveled back to 1999 and had a choice of Duncan or Kobe, I would take Duncan.

My point Rick, is that Kobe has already had 5-6 of those Lebron perfomances. You don't want to recognize that.

That being said MJ is better then Lebron and Kobe. But that's not an insult to either.

why is everyone so caught up in being able to say that someone is the next someone else?

last night's game was classic. i enjoy it for what it was. i'm loving what i'm seeing out of lebron, i'm definitely pulling for them.

in his era, jordan was the best. in this era, lebron has the potential to be the best. i love watching the kid play. and cleveland is so muddled in mediocrity sportswise, it's good to see them have someone like lebron.

appreciate it because we're coming into an era of the NBA that is gonna be great.

Well said, Zack. This whole Dan Patrick thing of who is better than who, with whom would you start your franchise, etc. gets old fairly quickly.

"My point Rick, is that Kobe has already had 5-6 of those Lebron perfomances. You don't want to recognize that. "

I won't recognize that because I don't believe it. Maybe he was never in that position, but no other player scored in two overtimes and his team still won from what I remember.

Kobe does have some great 4th quarter performances, but nothing like scoring 29 of the last 30 to beat a team like the Pistons in a pivotal game.

Kobe scored 81 points in a game. That was an amazing performance. In my opinion, it doesn't equal this performance by Lebron.

It's a very subjective thing comparing games, but I would put this performance up to almost every other great performance of Jordan. I couldn't be a bigger Jordan fan so this isn't me hating on Kobe.

If Kobe Bryant has had 5 or 6 all-time great performances, then I must have a very short memory.

They will talk about this performance 20 years from now. They don't talk about any similar Kobe Bryant performance today.

Nas,
That may be your most laughable post yet.
If that's a fact, than why is Kobe whining for more help?
Basketball is a team sport, and it will always take team defense to win championships.

Has anybody ever won a series by themselves?

I'll take the rapists for 100, Alex.

While his performance last night was impressive, this stat says as much about the other Cavs as it does LeBron.

Here is what I think happened with that Kobe rape situation. I think she agreed to have standard sex with him.

I think the rape occured when he flipped her over and ass fucked her. His thoughts were if you agree then you're up for anything.

"Kobe is the only player in the league that can win a series by himself when he is at the top of his game."

With a win in game 6 or 7, Lebron James will have won a series by himself as much as you can in a team sport.

Kobe may be good enough to win a series by himself, but he isn't the only player. Lebron James is also on that list.

No Nas. This game ranks right below Paxon's game 5 in the 91 Finals vs the Lakers.

Greatest Playoff performances ever.

1. Paxon
2. Gibson
3. Jordan
4. James

I know you guys are joking but in my opinion the pistons were pretty dumb in that game. Of course the players around him are going to shoot better at home. They continued to double and triple team Lebron even as Gibson was catching fire.

They should have forced Lebron to put up another great game to beat them. The lack of adjustments by Flip Saunders is amazingly bad and I would be surprised if he's back with the Pistons next year.
