That was a catch.

seemed like it, as much/more of a catch than this was:

http://youtu.be/N83jLhwHME4

tho if Wise tagged up, even if they called it a catch, it'd only be the 2nd out and Wise had plenty of time to amble home with both fielders on the turf and the baseball nowhere nearby. Seattle should've thrown the ball to 2nd, touched the base and asked for a ruling--or did they? Hawk was saying something about somebody being safe.

They did. I think the argument was Konerko missed first base. Stone said the first base umpire called Konerko safe when Hawk asked what was going on.

I felt a lot of discomfort watching that first inning.

The Sox have been in a rain delay for over half an hour. They've taken the tarp on and off three times and are still in a rain delay with no end in sight while the Cubs have continued to play 8 miles away. Gotta love Chicago weather.

Wonder if that wouldve been good umpiring if that were Seattle's second baseman turning it.

Exactly..says nothing when bad calls go the Sox way and whine like a lil bitch when they don't.

Completely false.

I was at the game (well, I left the game after the delay) and it was way too wet out there to be playing. Seattle's shortstop blew a couple of routine balls due to the wetness.

I'm out in CF bleachers w/ Mrs. Newper next to the pink umbrella guy if you are watching the home run replay at home. :)

You'll be disappointed because she took her shirt off after the third inning.

Yes fuck the Tigers but up next is the Kansas City Orioles. Take two of three and I'll be ecstatic.

But this is the way it's supposed to be. The two best teams winning nearly everyday. If the Sox finish at about .580 I'm not going to feel terrible if Detroit wins the division. At that point, they just got beat.

I think that's probably where most Sox fans are at. I don't think any reasonable fan thought the Sox would be leading the division at this point -- the Tigers were supposed to take it and have a hand ride in through August to probably a 7 to 9 game lead over anyone else. If the Sox go 94-68 (which is the .580) you'd have to be pleased with that for the year. That's going to get you to the wild card game no doubt. But as long as you are in the lead, you just need to keep winning games.. even ugly ones like every single game this weekend.

I thought the Tigers would be better than they are, but I also thought the Sox could win 90 games so I am not surprised to see them leading the division.

Don't go Terry's Peeps on us, OKC.

Keep that head up, stay confident and know that our White Sox will defeat the Orioles and go on to their 3rd straight sweep and gain 2 game on the Tigers.

The Sox went 6-0 on the homestand and only gained 1 game on the Tiggers.

Split in Baltimore and take 2 of 3 in Detroit. Sale vs Verlander on Sunday night. That sets up for a 1-0 final with about 25 strikeouts combined.

They scare me man. I have visions of 2010 when they swept us in Baltimore and began the slide that allowed Minnesota to regain the Central lead, and eventually win the division. I believe they swept us in Chicago last year too. Ever since Showalter took over...
