Mr. Fealz' first girlfriend was a real stunner. Beautiful little woman from India, a Muslim who he was really wild about. Mr. Fealz and this beautiful young woman had a very passionate relationship, the type that really would have gotten her in a boatload of trouble.

The religion part never bothered me. But her family, and my family, were steadfastly opposed. I remember being at a Border's looking at books, holding hands and about to kiss when her cousin rounded the corner. "Oh you must be Mr. Fealz," he said with a glare. There was a lot of stress back then, and I walked away out of fear. Cried a lot, hurt a lot. From time to time she'd pop up in a thought or dream, or I'd think of some old things while waxing the carrot. But she was pretty much out of mind. That whole time was pretty much out of mind.

Today, here's an invite to friend her. God did the memories come rushing back. Even though it's been 14 years now seeing her picture - her husband, her kids - shit that opened wounds that I wasn't ready to deal with.
