That was/is a foolish statement. You have to be worried about the only team in the division that can catch you. To say you aren't worried is head in the clouds meatballism.

If they sweep the Tigers this weekend and go up 6-7 games on them, then you can say you arent worried but not in July. And you can bet that if a Cub fan had made a remark like that Brick and Frank would quote them on it at least once a week if not more.

Frank has been pretty consistent since pretty early on that the Tigers wouldnt be very good. I dont see why he would change his stance on that now.

The whole post describes how he wants a big lead going into the series against the Tigers. He even goes so far as to couch it by saying he doesnt want to get ahead of himself.

If he wasnt worried, he wouldnt write a paragraph of hope on it and be worrying about the NEXT Tiger series already.

We'll let Frank clarify. I didn't read it the way you did. The way I read it was that he thinks the Tigers are all but finished and he wants to see the Sox go for the kill in the next 10 days.

I'm not worried about the Tigers. I was a obviously a little concerned as they have a talented team, but I thought they were who they are and would not make a huge run to overtake the Sox. Thus far, they haven't. I said the White Sox worst enemy was themselves and that if they lost the division it would be just that. The Sox lost moreso than the Tigers won.

I am not worried about the Tigers. If the Sox lose the series this weekend it will be because of their own miscues.

Most athletes that make it to the highest level are very talented. They just have miscues that cause them not to perform as well as others.

I'm just glad the Bears arent going to get beat this season by anyone. They will lose due to things they did. What the other team does is not relevant.

Of course they are very talented. The worst player in the NBA would destroy anyone you know 1 on 1. But they would also get destroyed by LeBron James 1 on 1, no matter how perfect they played(relative to their potential). I'm pretty sure you know this.

You probably should go back to read what I said about that series. I said it was the Sox who were putting the pressure on and it would force the Tigers to win at least 3 of 4.

So far, this has been true. Now there are still 40 games left and a lot can happen, but at this point the pressure is all on the Tigers. They were supposed to cakewalk to 90some wins and very few expected the Sox to have a 3 game lead at this point.

I am not backing off that thought at all, not one iota. Its been a fun season and hopefully September AND October prove to be as fun as it was in 2005

If you werent worried and they were just like any other team, you wouldnt be "hoping to go into the series up 4 games" and you wouldnt be thinkiing about the next series.
