Here is the straight dope:

Mac said, in regards to why he chose Finfer:

-Mac got to listen to Finfer on the radio.
-"It's all about content!"
-Mac said Finfer is professional and disciplined.
-Mac said that Finfer is ready to be on the radio as a full time sub for his show.
-Finfer will also be subbing for Meat as well as Mac.

Now....If those were the qualifications for getting the full time stair stepping sub gig for the Mac/Meat Show....does Goff or Larry possess any of them? Obviously Mac is saying that Finfer has the goods and that those that came before to Sub did not. Add in the recent dust up on air about Goff and DaaaMaaaNaaa barbs ,well, one would come to think that Mac doesn't think Goff has what it takes and that Goff did something to completely kick him off the "Danny Mac Substitute Host List."

He did say all that. I didn't take it as a list of things Goff & Matty do not have. I took it as "I like this guy and I'm going to tell you why he's qualified".

"Radio Drama" talk around here used to be stuff like "Damn, Mac just told Harry to kiss his ass!" now it's "Damn, Mac just praised a prodecer on his show which can only mean he is dissing other producers from another show. IT'S AN ALL OUT WAR!!!!"

I think people are just hungry for another on air meltdown or pissing match. They happen, people just need to be patient. This other shit is just goofy as all hell. Mac wasn't even speaking in code or being vague. He was giving props to someone he's worked with for a long time and giving reasons why he chose to have him fill in...

Is this a suggestion that what goes out over the airwaves is somehow less than real? Because that would be far more damning than anything suggested in this thread. Without credibility a host becomes Mancow.

I'm not proffering an opinion. I'm posting facts. Jason DID use DaMaNa after "relevant idiot." Mac DID ask him about it on air. Mac DID name Finfer his co-host. However, I think those facts could very well lead a reasonable person to form an opinion that said events were related.

To attempt to make Beardown to be some off-the-wall buffoon over what's he's posted on the subject is bullshit. In my highly informed opinion, that is.

You believe, it was a coincidence that Finfer was "promoted" on air (who even announces permanent guest hosts?) just days after Mac and Goff had a little rift?

That would be quite the coincidence.

FF, do you believe that Goff's "I get my news from message boards" was NOT a shot at Mac?

That would be another crazy coincidence.

And finally, what did Goff mean when he said "You cant say that anymore" regarding DaaMahNee?
