It's a chain but the ones in Houston and Austin are very good for cajun seafood,including some really sassy gulf oysters. Anybody been to the one in Westmont?

After being there for some time,the one in Arlington Heights closed. It's now a Coopers Hawk. Never been there though.

I have. I didn't care for it. I think it pales in comparison in quality of food to Heaven on Seven which is one of my favorite restaurants.

If I recall, they do that thing where they give you a ridiculous portion size also.

But, they were crazy busy the night I was there so some people must like it.

We went a few times years ago but haven't gone back. I didn't really like it. Service can be good or terrible. I wouldn't endorse it.

We used to go to the one in Arlington Heights. As someone who loves Seafood & spicy cajun food, I thought it was pretty damn good for a chain.

Yeah I wouldn't say it's horrible. Part of it is because Oak Brook or other restaurants are nearby, we just end up going somewhere else. There isn't too many NO type restaurants here though.

It's the Houston version of Lettuce. They have a portfolio that ranges from relatively inexpensive taco joints to a high-end steakhouse. Cajun food places in the chain are OK, if you like Applebees.

The one in Westmont isn't bad, but been to a few while traveling that were disappointing (you here me Denver??!)

A few seafood places that I like better in the Western Burbs:

Reel Club in Oak Brook (Lettuce)
Devon Seafood in Oak Brook Terrace (the only management team from Braxton's)

I did not like Holy Mackeral (Harry Caray's) in the Westin in Lombard and Parker's in Downers Grove can be really good sometimes, but also had some Meh dinners there.

Is Devon the one across from Costco? Used to be Vic's? Braxtons was pretty good food but the average age in there had to be 72. It was like walking into an expensive supper club. Have you tried Seasons 52 that went in Braxtons old place?

I like Parkers for the most part. Their brunches are suppose to be really good.

The Pappas' resturants in Houston are much better than the ones here. I really wanted to enjoy the one in Westmont, but unfortunately I got sick after eating there. The rest of the family enjoyed it, but iirc it was the crawfish that did me in.

Yeah, thats it - across from Costco. Braxtons was like the dining room at Del Webb's Sun City.

Been to a Seasons 52 in another state - food is good, but always feel like I'm hungry when I leave.

is Chinn's 34 still open in Lisle? that used to be good.

It's still there. I ate their recently. It's not Bob Chinn's place; it's run by a nephew whose dad partners with Bob on Chinn's - the food is fine, but it's not the same as Northbrook. Is it good enough if you have a hankering for crab and live out west and don't want to contend with the lines? Sure.

The steakhouse was pretty damn good. I thought it was as good as Smith & Wollensky.

I really like Pappadeaux

there aren't too many cajun places let alone cajun seafood places, chain or not. I love a crawfish etoufee and i think the only places i've had it around here are Pappadeaux, Chucks, Maple Tree Inn and Heaven on Seven....and I like Pappadeaux's the best

and their banana pudding is awesome
