Lovie isn't going anywhere after the Bears go 12-4 & play the Niners in the NFC championship game.
Lovie wins NFL coach of the year & gets a 3 year contract extension.

I cant believe that the Bears finally have a better offense than defense. This is going to be a fun year kids.

That was fun! Most of the Colts stuff on offense came after the game was put away it seemed.

I have absolutely no voice tonight after NU last night and the Bears this afternoon.

I liked Jay recovering off the bad start and getting good and mad at himself and going out and saying I'll show you and he did.

And of course we have the inevitable whining about him pouting. I saw him smiling and laughing with Urlacher too.

The same morons who talk about him pouting are the same morons who whined because Frank Thomas didn't smile at fans while in the ondeck circle. I said to those morons "You take the smiling Mark Grace and I'll take Frank Thomas every day and twice on Tuesdays!"

That was awesome with a ladle of awesomesauce on top.

It's a year where whatever the defense gives you is a bonus and they should still be pretty good. Great game from Jennings also - the Dr. Ken Player of the Game.

Things no one says, of course. But the problem with Cutler -- even today -- is that no matter how bad the defense, he has 3 - 5 really bad decisions that can kill your team if they go the wrong way (see the Washington Redskins game a few years ago). He's like a multiple-choice test taker who always gets a B- even when they know the stuff. He fills in the wrong bubble too many times.

Today is no exception. But he's good enough to light up a bad or even decent defense. He's not Rex Grossman.

That's pretty much right, I think. He drives you crazy a bunch, but good god, he's got incredible skill. Some of those throws today were just sick. It looks like the Bears will put up big offensive numbers this year; the question is can they overcome the mistakes.

Great call on that. Jennings was a fucking badass today. He may be small, but the way he can elevate to pick off passes is great, and he's tough as fuck. He's really become a nice player.

2 ridiculous picks, Devin Hester!!!, and the 3rd pick was his play too on the deflection.

Great game.

You know it was a great game, because at one point, I actually said aloud "Jennings is having a whale of a game today." Motherfucker turned me into a cliche NFL analyst. He was a defensive standout, but that may be tall midget stuff today.

First time I think I've ever seen Hester wide open downfield. There wasn't a guy within 5 yards of him.

This might work.

Yeah, I was a doubter, and my doubt was reinforced for the first quarter or so. But once they got Forte/Bush moving and did play action stuff, the line was able to hold and the results were awesome. Marshall looks great, Jefferies looks great (I'm calling him that this year to piss off Bernstein), and Cutler was on his game today. So many great throws, right where they needed to be. Lets see how the offense does on short rest -- I don't know what the over/under will be for this game, but I wouldn't be shocked to see 70 pts scored -- I'm kind of excited for this season.

Alshon Jeffries may have 20 TD catches this year.

As opposed to the QB who never makes any bad decisions or throws? I have no idea what NFL you are watching. See the Packers game today? See Tom Brady win, but make some questionable throws and decisions?

The predisposition to disliking Cutler has invaded peoples brain stems. It isn't even a matter of synapses not firing correctly anymore.

I admittedly don't watch that many Saints games, but every time I happen to catch one or part of one, Brees either makes a few bad throws/decisions or just chucks the ball up for grabs.

Do you consider him a potential pro bowl player?

Last year, Nas was calling Melton "Baby Sapp"--and he meant Warren, not Bob. At this point, I don't see what some apparently have identified as Melton's "special" qualities. His seven sacks last year came in a total of three games. He didn't even touch the quarterback--according to stats frequently cited by Mully--in eleven of the team's games. That's not making an impact; in fact, it's not even decent.

No doubt in my mind they lose that game if Martz is the coordinator.

Well, Im no Irish boy or Dan Bernstein. Just watching the games as a civilian, he makes some plays. Maybe being all stacked up in one game makes it seem more than it is.

Dan Dierdorf deemed him a "good football player"

Speaking of Dierdorf, what the Hell happened to that guy. His face looks like it's imploding, almost as though he keeps his head locked down in a vise overnight.

Evan Rodriguez didn't block make a block the entire pre season. He was knocking mfers out yesterday from the H back position as the lead blocker. It was really a great job by him and I dimension to his game I didn't think he had.

Isnt that where the logic gets a little fuzzy regarding the awesomesauce that is " The Peppers Effect ? " He has a built in excuse for when he doesnt show up anywhere on the stat sheet. Its because he's getting double teamed ALL. THE. TIME yet because of that he's opening up plays for other teammates to make. So Melton has a good game its because Peppers occupies 2 guys ALL THE TIME and leaves Melton 1on 1 with his guy. In other games where Peppers gets double teamed ALL THE TIME and Melton is still 1 on 1 with his guy and doesnt do squat , its because he sucks and cant beat his man.Does anyone else on the D Line ever get credit for when they do make an impact other than it being because Peppers gets double teamed ALL THE TIME while Julius himself gets a pass when he's nowhere to be seen?

DONT. WATCH. THE. BALL.

No but really, Peppers is all over the place when you watch the games. He's playing well.

Still has to get to the QB more often
