Being a sucker for all things Dorito, I basically try everything they put on the shelf. So, yesterday, I see this black and white label Dortios bag called X-13D. It was so weird I had to try it.

They are quite tasty. Kind of a cross between Cool Ranch and a Sweet Hot flavor but not spicy. I think they are having a contest to name it but I think they should leave it as is. I love the name X-13D.

"I heartily endorse this event or product!"

I can't believe how many different Doritos flavors there are now. I remember when Cool Ranch came out and it was the shit. Now there have to be at least 10 flavors. It's gotten way out of hand.

You are nuts. Never, ever mess with the original cheeto flavor. I've come close to eating my own fingers simply because they were covered in cheeto dust.

I believe that's a premise of an old joke, isn't it?

I just bought a bag of these a few days ago. The girl at the checkout told me "They taste like a Whopper!". I'm like...a corn chip tastes like a burger? That doesn't really make sense...that's not even possible.

Then I tried them. And you know...they do kind of...

thumbs up. they are GOOD.

You're right. I tried them again and they do taste similar to a burger with ketchup and mustard on it. I'd say more like a Slider with the onion flavor.

So, I looked at the ingredients and, sure enough, it contains Artificial flavors (Beef and Wheat). I checked the Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch lables and they don't have that so I think they are going for a "burger" Doritos.

Thinking about this some more because my project is bugging me and I need a break from thinking about it -

I'll bet they did research on this and found out that the idea of a cheeseburger Dorito grossed people out. I don't think I'd be interested. But, that it tastes pretty good so they came up with this idea.

Alright I needed that break to think about something else, now back to my marketing project.

I believe the shoe pic is via Coach during the crazy Snowwatch 2006 thread and the other two harken back to a "different" time on the board's timeline.

Maybe they were trying for nacho flavored nacho chips.

Not a fan, eh, Dolphin? Maybe you just haven't tried the right flavor. Maybe you should try these...

I recall a Taco Bell Dorito flavor in the past.

Do these taste similar at all?

THE ORIGINAL DORITO was just corn chip flavor and I ate them like crazy! I would eat a bag instead of dinner. Always pissed off Mom, then they stopped making them because I liked them.

Other products stopped being produced because I liked them.

QUISP
Tobasco- Bloody Mary Mix
Tobasco- Chili Mix
Qp with cheese in the Styrofoam container - yes, Must be in Styrofoam!
Demon Dogs - Well they kinda got rid of the whole place
Smoky Links- CF Bleachers Wrigley

Another Dorito tip - now that my stores of X-13D have depleted, I recommend the Zesty Taco / Chipotle Ranch Collisions product. I liked them much more than the Hot Wings / Blue Cheese Collisions.

Kudos to you Frito-Lay, for having the stones to let two different chips cohabitate in a single bag, letting their fine flavors rub against each other seductively and allowing me to participate in a ménage à trois of steamy, hot, snack chip love.

I was a fan of the salsa and cream cheese flavored baked tostitos.

If we can have two different kinds of doritos co-exist in the same bag, then I have a dream that one day our children will be able to co-exist in a Martin Luther King Jr. thread.

I would like the return of the original Kentucky Fried Chicken biscuits.

Did they have to use the word "collision"? Makes me think one of those doritos flavors was drinking and driving and that's ILLEGAL!

I would like the return of:

Royals (anyone remember these - mint M&Ms that came in a brownish bag).

Pepsi and Coke made with real sugar (I always order dozens of Passover sodas to last me six months or more)

Pepsi and Coke in glass bottles

Beeman's gum (and Clove, too)

You can find Coke made with real sugar in some Mexican restaurants, and often times it's in the glass bottles.
Jarritos is still made with sugar, which makes it a hit around my house in the summer months.

Rob, unfortunately a lot of the Coke from Mexico is now coming in with corn syrup. I know the Coke bottler down Guerrero (Yoli de Acapulco) is still using sugar, but it seems a number of the northern bottlers have switched.

Lime Jarritos is great.

Its ridiculous that there is a 2 page Dorito thread and noone has mentioned the Blazin Buffalo Ranch version. Those are simply amazing.

BTW Doc, in this thread you basically sounded exactly like my stoner friend Chris when describing you're Dorito love.

Random Thought: HHJ touched on this, but I feel like Dorito should be like the female version of Burrito on this site. Bigfan make this happen. And Yes I know this is the wrong section for this thought Stink.
