It started out rough but that was one hell of an outing turned in by Quintana. This fuckin bullpen better get 4 outs.

It just means they'll leave tied with Detroit.

Just got home from the game. Quintana settled down, which was nice. Good crowd in the lower bowl tonight. Everyone really into the game. Detroit really can't catch the ball for shit.

I feel better for now.

Gordon Beckham now has 14 homers with his 2-run shot to put the icing on the cake for the Southsiders in their 6-1 home win over the Tigers. Beckham has now tied his career high in 2009, which seems like a long time ago.

2 more wins in this series and you can seal up the division.

I cannot remember a pitcher for the Sox who is as gutsy as Quintana on a daily basis. He sees so much adversity and it never shakes him.

It worked so well last night, RV's sticking with the same lineup tonight. Here's how the White Sox will deal with Detroit's Doug Fister this eve:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L)
20 Kevin Youkilis 3B (R)
28 Dewayne Wise LF (L)
14 Paul Konerko 1B (R)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
24 Dayan Viciedo DH (R)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
Starting Pitcher: 44 Jake Peavy (RHP; 10-10, 3.22 ERA)

I can live with Wise getting time but I wouldn't mind seeing Flowers getting starts behind the plate and AJ DH while Dunn is gone. Flowers has been every bit as hot as Wise in the second half of the season and gives you much more of a run producing threat at the bottom of the order

Well, thanks to the expanded 40-man roster, the White Sox do have a third catcher on the roster in Hector Gimenez, which would allow RV to play both A.J. & Tyler, and put Gimenez in there to replace Flowers at the end if needed behind the plate. In fact, White Sox TV analyst Steve Stone was on with "Mully & Hanley" this morning, and he feels the Sox might have to plan on trying to finish the deal in the AL Central minus their DH and occasional first baseman as long as the oblique continues to give him trouble:

The Tigers have made a few lineup changes. They're in BOLD & here's how they'll deal with the White Sox' Jake Peavy:

14 Austin Jackson CF (R)
12 Andy Dirks LF (L)
24 Miguel Cabrera 3B (R)
28 Prince Fielder 1B (R)
21 Delmon Young DH (R)
26 Brennan Boesch RF (L)
27 Jhonny Peralta SS (R)
13 Alex Avila C (L)
4 Omar Infante 2B (R)
Starting Pitcher: 58 Doug Fister (RHP; 8-8, 3.54 ERA)

Good to see you come round on DeWayne. Before you know it you're going to be saying he should be playing centerfield.

he should not play over De Aza or Dunn but he has always been a good option as a reserve/replacement. I've always like Dewayne. I don't like him as a regular player and Ozzie really misused him at the end of his first sox go around
