Just kidding. Webb is just alright with me. He needs to sign an extension.

He's not good but it's not all his fault.

The entire loss isn't his fault. But he's been abysmal this game. Not even just bad. Like so bad it's hard for the other 10 guys to do their jobs bad.

He shouldn't be a starting tackle, and if he is, he should be covered up. But if he gives you four seconds, throw the damn ball.

Also, fire Emery.

But we both know the nfl, especially offenses, are about a fluid integration of multiple parts. The majority of the plays Webb has been able to buy Cutler at least 3 seconds, but the WR's aren't getting open(where's Marshall?), and Cutler has been hesitant to fire it away, probably out of fear of turning it over. So you have Webb not blocking, which leads to Cutler getting happy feet, but also Marshall not getting separation, which leads to hesitation, which leads to multiple sacks and INTs. It starts with the line.

Losing Forte hurt too, although he wasn't very effective to begin with. But he is their best offensive player and he needs to touch the ball 20 times or close to it. Jay can't carry an offense. His accuracy isn't good enough to make up for the lack of a running game.

I'm sorta drunk and maybe this didn't make sense. But I think it did.

He was a 7th round pick, wasn't he?? What did you really expect? They had a problem there last season and did nothing to upgrade. Cutler will be a ragdoll again, when the Bears face a good pass-rush. I blame the GM for doing nothing to upgrade a terrible line. Good WR's don't do a lot, when the QB is looking out of his earhole.

Right. I was just like you said last week. What's Cutler doing holding onto the ball? What's he doing with those throws? When he's bad, he just gets you killed. I'm very disheartened.

But, yeah, Webb is just beyond belief bad.

I miss the days when teams would cut guys for a performance like Webb had tonight.
There are hundreds of lineman looking for work who could do what Webb does.

The guy was a 7th round pick BUT Jay Hilgenberg was a FA and had a pretty good career. I just wonder if Webb would be a good guard. A guy that big has to be good for something.

That same logic has led to Eddy Curry having a 10+ season NBA career.

No. That's like thinking that all tall people should be great at Basketball. There are lots of big guys who are slow & have no technique. Most of them actually.

How bad must Chris Williams be. He can't play ahead of Webb.

It's tough to turn chicken shit into chicken chop suey.

Or maybe it's not.

I haven't tried. Maybe later.

When young OL prospects consistently fail, sooner or later it's not the OL prospects fault.

It is if they're consistently bad OL prospects.

And for he record, chicken shit does not make good chicken chop suey.

FF, you're putting the fact that Angelo consistently drafted injured Lineman on Tice?

It really does not bug me that Webb is not good. He's maximized the career path of a normal 7th rounder. It bugs me that I think he can be better but he simply does not put in the time. Work ethic has always been an issue with him. He admitted it himself after Merriman ate him up in the pre season last year.

If he hasnt learned to push it by the time he got to the NFL, he's not going to learn it IN the NFL

It's true but it doesn't help when he has effectively been given the LT position two years in a row. They had to conjure up a battle half way through training camp this year just to get him a little motivated.

Who was the Guard that they could have had in the draft?

I know they need a LT, but that line is at the point where they need to take any prospect that looks good, guard, tackle or center.

He tore his ACL and will most likely miss the year with the Steelers

but hey, Ryan Clady is a free agent next year and has said he wanted to return to playing with Cutler and Marshall
