Even John Tait. He filled in quite well for a former RT.

in terms of the bears at this juncture in time and space, i miss the g-regulator; the Man, the Myth, the Legend from THE U who many of us know as the greatest rapper in the history of the chicago bears, g-reg olsen.

yeah, i know he has his deficiencies blocking and he was never quite the OMFG YES veritable-WR-at-TE that we hoped he could be when he came out of THE U either a late first round or early second round pick for the bears.... but man oh man, i forget what potentially-decent guy the bears ended up snagging with the 5th(?) round pick they got back for greg, but whoever it is prolly wouldn't be as useful as a proper dose of g-reg.

i woulda liked to have seen if g-reg perhaps could manage to go up another notch if he had more time with jay.... sure he's basically a 45-60 reception / 550 yard / 5 TD guy in his career, but you figure with him having a 60rec / 600yd 8TD season with jay in ron turner's offense if he would have been able to outlast the martz regime perhaps he could have approached those #s again.... cuz man, i know his blocking is what it is and whatnot, but there's something to be said for having a guy on the team who your QB is down with and comfortable with and able to run the occasional seambuster like that first drive ~60yd TD in the playoff game against seattle.... or hell, that nifty catch and run he had against dallas early in the season.... he at least had some decent potential for big plays, as opposed to kellen davis who had something like a grand total of 20 catches in his three seasons with the bears, including a whopping 18 with three touchdowns in the 2011 season. this year he's got 1 catch for a 21yd TD in two games.

blah blah blah blab blab blab long story short, unless my rosy colored glasses are covering up the fact that his inability to block was truly a horrible detriment to the team that would render his usual ~50/550/5 seasons useless, i'd feel much better about the bears passing attack if you had g-reg going down the middle as opposed to kellen davis, who i hope saved that football from that HUGELY IMPORTANT TOUCHDOWN. shomer shabbos.

who did the bears get with that 5th round draft pick they got for g-reg? i forgot. anyways i'm going to go back to burning my effigy of jerry angelo for not getting the best WR on the board with the bears first pick in the 2009 draft (round 3 / pick #63), mike wallace, because they had to go and get another defensive tackle in JARRON GILBERT, cuz you know, he can jump out of the damn pool. who needs weapons for your new quarterback? oh wait, i forgot, 15 picks after wallace the bears went and got juaquin iglesas. problem solved. i think he's still on a practice squad somewhere!

long story short blah blah blah tl;dr i miss g-reg cuz i like having a tight end with a pulse in the passing game when you're supposed to have your franchise's offense of the century despite its god-awful offensive line. maybe none of this matters because the bears will be unable to seriously contend for a couple'a years with this team/coaching-administration and you'll have to hope that jay's still somehow healthy by the time you decide to go against meatball nation and retool the bears as an offense-first-team, hoping you can maybe pull off a ring one year because jay cutler has a career year. that's what we're looking at, i'm afraid.

I liked him too. Has anybody homered that deep out of Wrigley since him? I think that was '02 or '03 when he hit that bomb.

But he was yet another...

I don't think he took steroids but he was scary strong. He liked Wrigley, that's for sure.

EDIT: Just read OKC's post. So I guess he did cheat.

Didn't he get a roof shot in the old park, or am I thinking of somebody else?
