Keep the faith. He is a good QB. He is not an elite QB. I'd put him in line with a guy like Rivers, which is still a guy you want and who can win you games on his own.

But that's all he ever was or was going to be.

No, but I am Catholic, and Jesus thinks Mallett fucking sucks.

What does Jesus know about football?

Running is on its way out. No one is running toward the Super Bowl

SF and Baltimore very well could be.

S.F. may very well win it all..with Defense and coaching..and a good ground game and few turnovers..in that order.

Nope.

QB has to make plays. SF would have been fucked if Alex Smith didnt have a great post season.

It required him making historic plays to advance to the NFC title game

You can not run anywhere in this league. That's over.

Jay Cutler is a prime example of a flaw inherent in any fan of a team that hasn't won a championship in a certain amount of time: the next "big trade" is the one that makes everyone believe the drought is over.

When that "big trade" begins to not live up to fans' expectations - the same fans who welcomed the player with open arms and wallets - blame starts getting thrown onto the player for being defective. I attribute this to fans not wanting to admit they overreacted, or (gasp!) perhaps they were just wrong in the first place. It thus becomes the player's fault even though he's probably playing like he always has.

I get it. I really do. It happens with any team in any sport.

I would make that Cutler trade again today if it was presented to the me and I have not heard to many Bears fans who think differently. Jay is a top QB, which is essential to success in today's NFL. He is just not elite.

I'm not saying it was a bad trade. I'm saying that fans shouldn't start crucifying Cutler now because of playing like he always has, nor because a championship hasn't developed yet. Bear fans are not unique in that reaction, but that fact doesn't make it any less laughable.

To be worth the cost, Cutler pretty much had to develop into a top five QB. I thought he would. He did not and almost certainly will not. The trade was a mistake.

Was over the moon about this trade when it occurred, but am over it now. #6 is just "a guy". To be fair, until this o-line is fixed and Lovie/Tice/Bates actually call some plays that can help the QB when the pressure is on, the blame rests heavily with these three.

Emery needs to be scouting for #6's replacement, soon.

My guy says it's not a high ankle sprain, FWIW. Not sure if people are still saying it is... but contrary to the initial report, it isn't.

Yea, tbh I don't listen very much. Did a quick Google search and still saw "high ankle sprain." If they changed the report, I just missed it.

(WSCR) Jay Cutler’s antics during Thursday night’s loss to the Packers have brought an onslaught of criticism directed toward the Bears signal caller.

During the NFL Network’s broadcast on Thursday, Cutler was seen repeatedly yelling at his teammates, even bumping left tackle J’Marcus Webb in frustration.

Cutler’s actions prompted one Super-Bowl-winning coach to suggest that if he doesn’t change his ways, the Bears may have to consider making a change at quarterback.

”The guy’s got a strong arm. There is no question about that,” Cowher said on CBS’ ‘The NFL Today.’ ”He’s had some protection issues. I know there’s been some questionable [play] calling. But they brought players in to help this guy win a championship, and he’s going to [have to] prove to be more accountable — not sensationalize every little mistake with his antics and body language.

”He’s a good quarterback. But if he does not change his ways and this team does not go to the playoffs, they have to consider changing. He has to change.”

Watching the Falcons game. It's nice to watch a QB not shit his pants when the heat is on and make some tight passes to his own players. Maybe Matty Ice would want a change of scenery? Oh he just ran for a first down too. How nice.

You would hate him by his 2nd game in a Bears jersey.

So according to the bottom line Lovie said Forte does not have a high ankle sprain. That is weird for a coach and organization that never talk about injuries. What the hell does he have then?

It is pretty apparent the difference between Forte and a high quality backup like Bush. The Bears really missed him in this game and they will need him to beat the Cowboys.

I can't hate Obama because every time Romney speaks somehow I forget all my complaints about him. I'll follow Ann Romney's advice and not criticize Romney because I understand that running for president is hard and I'm not in the arena so I can't say anything. I do wonder if it's harder being president than running for it though.

Ok.

Let's say the day before the trade, Cutler made up with the Broncos and ended up staying.

No trade made.

Where would the Bears be? Who would be their QB?

I know we cant KNOW, but just guessing
