If you're not watching the Eagles/Ravens game, you're missing one of the worst handled and officiated games I truly think I've ever seen.

The refs ... all of them ... don't have anything remotely close to a professional grasp of their jobs.

If it's not a blown call, it's play stoppage after play stoppage to discuss how retarded (sorry) they just were and then more time spent trying to unfuck themselves.

Deplorable.

True story. It's not at all hyperbolic to say this is easily one of the worst officiated games in any sport I have ever seen in my life.

A few of these games have been horridly handled by the refs. Eagles/Ravens has been bad. Some of these non-calls are terrible too.

Agreed. And just because I'm agitated, the "holding" call on Gronkowski in the NE/AZ game to negate Woodhead's TD run was also horrid.

That will teach you get involved in Bears business.

I also watched this game and thought it was just an awfully ref'd game. There was that one personal foul penalty in which they'd initially placed the ball on the 27, the 33, and the 37 before figuring out it was on the 43. Just bad.

Is anybody watching the redzone channel? The dude is just killing these refs, justifiably.

Scott Hanson dropped a "Come on guys, its third down! We knew that here in the studio!!!"

Because of how bad these few games have gone, I'm sure we'll get at least 6 more weeks of the lockout given how stubborn Goodell is.

I was wiling to give them the benefit of the doubt but in the games I've watched they've been awful.

They need to start stealing some gimmicks.

One can talk with a lisp, one can make exaggerated arm motions, and one can say "by rule" all the time.

They already have a few gimmicks of their own:

The "What Down is it?" shrug

The Porky Pig "It's a...it's erm....I think its 3rd down."

And the ever popular calling a penalty on a player who's number isn't even on the field.

Those are good, but you have to steal from the best.

None of the replacement refs should wear the shirt a half size too small ala Houcule. Well, if a few did they'd look like the Blue Meanie.

That was a correct call.

10 yards is 10 yards, and all the way from Pop Warner to the NFL, its 1-2-3-4 downs. Not to freakin' hard to remember how to remember that.

Game clock issues, I get; as college to the pros is quite different. But down and distance? If they can't handle that, rotate them out with the Saints fan....errrr, "We don't want to have it appear of a conflict of interest" ref.

It amounts to $100k from each team. They make that in one game selling malt cups....in December.

Yep. i was there Sunday. The first half was the worst officiating I've ever seen. There was a scrum after nearly every play. The refs had zero control of that game. It felt like the days when you had a substitute teacher. You knew you could get away with anything. The refs were easily manipulated by the players, coaches, and fans. It didn't feel like a real NFL game. Please fix this, and get the real refs back. There is a zero respect for the replacements.

scabs=lowlifes IMO. Unless they are literally starving and need the cash that badly. I don't care how they perform.

I think I heard where the whole package would actually cost each team about 1M. Even that is a "pimple on an elephant" for these teams.

I might re-evaluate my stance on watching non-Bears games. I feel asleep before halftime last night. The game was way too slow. They need to find a way to make NFL games come in under 3 hours. I don't see why you can't get these games down to 2:30 or so.

Get rid of the commercial break nearly every time there is a change in possession. Commercial breaks should happen during a timeout, and end of quarters. That would shorten the length of the game down. But the NFL would never let that happen.

Speaking of "The Dan Patrick Show", the former V.P. of NFL Officiating, "FOX NFL Sunday's" Mike Pereira, was a guest this morning. He says it's "sad" and feels it's undone work to get officiating where they want it. Pereira seems to have a real problem with the lack of control by these replacement refs, such as what happened at the end of the 1st last night with the Broncos/Falcons in Atlanta.

All that being said, there's still nothing new to report between the NFL & the regular officials, in spite of last night's fiasco in Atlanta. The replacement refs will continue.
