With a 3-game AL Central lead and 16 games left to play overall, the White Sox hope to move a lot closer to clinching the division the next 3 nights in a ballpark that has also given them trouble this season, besides Detroit's Comerica Park. Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City provides the locale for one more 3-game series between the Sox & Royals tonight through Thursday. The last time the Sox were in KC last month, they got swept. As for the mound matchups...

TONIGHT: 7:10P, NBC/Comcast SportsNet Chicago & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 34 Gavin Floyd (RHP; 9-10, 4.59 ERA) vs. KC: 44 Luke Hochevar (RHP; 8-13, 5.46 ERA)

WEDNESDAY: 7:10P, WCIU 26 (WGN Sports on The U) & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 49 Chris Sale (LHP; 17-6, 2.78 ERA) vs. KC: 39 Luis Mendoza (RHP; 7-9, 4.50 ERA)

THURSDAY: 7:10P, NBC/Comcast SportsNet Chicago & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 58 Francisco Liriano (LHP; 6-11, 5.24 ERA)* vs. KC: 52 Bruce Chen (LHP; 10-12, 5.42 ERA)

A fine play it was SHARK. As you know with these threads, they can go in any number of directions.

Since you never answered me in the Ask SHARK thread, who is that lady that follows you on Twitter and has the same last name as you? Your sister?

I don't have a sister. I'm not even married for that matter. I'm not sure how to answer that.

SHARK, is Baby Rose a Sox fan? And will she call you Uncle Shark when she's old enough to talk?

That's my brother's wife and mom to Baby Rose, who just turned 1 year old last week.

Yeah anyone that has lived in that area for any length of time knows the answer to this one

If I were SHARK, I'd find that pleasurable.

The fountains and BBQ joints seemed better in MO.

It's just odd, you steal another states' moniker for the name of your city, then the original state puts up a "city" just over the border, and keeps the same city name.

The lineups are in for the first of 3. The White Sox will deal with the Royals' Luke Hochevar like this:

32 Adam Dunn DH (L)
14 Paul Konerko 1B (R)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
28 Dewayne Wise CF (L)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)
Starting Pitcher: 34 Gavin Floyd (RHP; 9-10, 4.59 ERA)

As for the Royals vs. Floyd:

7 David Lough CF (L)
2 Alcides Escobar SS (R)
4 Alex Gordon LF (L)
16 Billy Butler DH (R)
13 Salvador Perez C (R)
8 Mike Moustakas 3B (L)
21 Jeff Franceour RF (R)
35 Eric Hosmer 1B (L)
34 Tony Abreu 2B (S)
Starting Pitcher: 44 Luke Hochevar (RHP: 8-13, 5.46 ERA)

Umpires: HP: Eric Cooper (Crew Chief), 1B Tim Timmons, 2B Marty Foster & 3B Dave Rackley

I wonder if there is a way the Sox can hynotize Gavin into thinking every team he pitches against is the Tigers. This looks like one of those games where they have to score in every inning.

Good lord Hawk shut the fuck up about the walks already. We get it so you don't have to talk about a walk 2 fucking innings after it happened. Fuck. I bet he wakes up in the middle of the night with walk terrors. WALKS! WALKS! DREADED LEAD OFF WALKS! WALKS!

Dumbass AJ. Every game the Sox play against Kansas City is like the first time they've ever played them. Do you assholes learn anything?? You don't run on the corner outfileders. Ever.

If the Sox win this thing Rios is going to get some MVP consideration. He's been awesome this year.

Wow Gavin really buckled down after that 1st inning and threw a hell of a game. Now the offense has to add a few more runs to make it easier for the bullpen to close this thing out.
