Seems to be some dispute over how he lost it all, swindled by attorney / advisors or just pissed it away.

What happened to Vince Young's money?

In an Associated Press report that includes quotes like, "I would just say that Vince needs a job" and "You'd think it would be hard to blow that much money," an increasingly bleak picture is being painted about the out-of-work quarterback's finances.

Attorneys continue to fight over how Young lost everything. One side argues Young is an out-of-control spender. The other side paints Young as the victim of incompetent advisers, one of them being his own uncle.

What isn't disputed is that Young is broke, the $26 million in guaranteed money earned via his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans seemingly lost in the ether.

Young -- the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 draft -- once sought to avoid linebackers and defensive ends. Now it's Pro Player Funding LLC, a lender attempting to collect on $1.7 million remaining on a loan obtained in his name during the NFL lockout in 2011.

Young contends Pro Player's dogged efforts to serve him with papers this summer "played a role" in the Buffalo Bills' decision to release him prior to the start of the season.

"I wasn't in the room when they (the Bills) made a decision, but what would you think?" asked Trey Dolezal, Young's attorney. "It certainly wouldn't help me if I'm the owner or the head coach knowing all this is going on with Vince and then he goes out and plays poorly."

I had the chance to interview Young when he visited NFL Network studios in March. He was low key and soft-spoken, and his publicist jumped in at different points to help massage Young's message.

Perhaps Young has always depended on other people to handle business that should've been his.

Somebody was doing him a favor even inviting him to Buffalo's camp. Then the Bills thought they would rather have Tavaris Jackson over him. Not a good look.

I think there were questions about Vince Young's work ethic or lack thereof since he entered the NFL as the #3 overall pick by the Titans. What has happened to Vince now is unfortunate, but I wonder if he ultimately made one bad decision after another financially and is now paying for it the hard way.

That seems likely.

Or maybe he was swindled.

How does one manage to spend $5000 a week at the Cheesecake Factory, you might ask? Luckily, someone already went through the math.

Quote:
Let's figure out exactly how someone spends $5,000 a week at the Cheesecake Factory, though. It really isn't as improbable as it sounds provided you assume a few things.

We'll assume eight people in a party.
For maximum gluttony, we will also assume the Titans ate at the Cheesecake Factory five times a week. This is far more probable than you want to admit. Most professional athletes in any city flock to large chain restaurants.
Five meals with eight people with a $5000 budget breaks down to $625 per person per week, or $125 a meal.
Getting to $125 is difficult without some serious gluttony. A filet mignon ($30), crab cake appetizer ($12), two side items ($7 a piece), and one slice of expensive cheesecake ($7) gets you to $63 or so before tax and tip. That tax, by the way, is a combined state and city tax of 9.2% for someone eating in Nashville. It is not a small chunk of this, either.

You fill in the rest with delicious and expensive booze. champagne, the most expensive of which would be Veuve Clicquot, which goes for about $90 a bottle at the Cheesecake Factory. Add in additional beverages--our favorite being the "Flying Gorilla," a "Kicked-Up" Chocolate Banana Milkshake with Godiva Chocolate and Banana Liqueur"--and hitting that $125 goes from extravagant to sort of conceivable.

Now, doing it with less frequency makes for some really extravagant meals for eight, but it could be done. Young could simply walk in and purchase a hundred cheesecakes every day, and some to go, and get to somewhere in the neighborhood of five grand a day. He would also have a tremendous pest infestation at his house, but that isn't the point.

The point is that even if Vince Young did this every day, every week, for an entire year, the total would come out to approximately $260,000, the amount some NFL rookies spend on their first cars. It's an obscene amount of money, but it's one obscene amount of money that, in the grand scale of a $26 million contract, seems like another item on a long checklist of things you can suddenly afford. Luxuries suddenly become necessities; necessities get the green light because they're necessities, and suddenly the Cheesecake Factory becomes a utility. (A delicious, expensive utility, but a utility nonetheless.)

Yeah, I don't feel that reaching $125 a person is all that difficult.

Nashville is a pretty decent food town...not great like Memphis but it's not like Applebee's is their culinary apex either...fucker couldn't just find a good BBQ restaurant to grab gurb at every night? They probably would have comped him just so they could say he ate there.

Part of making any NFL roster is situations. He may also be asking for more than minimum.

Young is clearly better than a guy like Hanie.
