I was wondering if anyone has one of these. I was thinking of getting one.

The capability of regulating the carbonation level is what has me interested.

We've had one since last Christmas. You have to fill the 1L bottle with cold water and you can't put any liquid in there to carbonate it other than cold water. If you like Seltzer water this is a good machine for you. Of course Soda Stream wants to market their crappy flavor syrups, which make 12L for $6. I would not buy any of their flavors ever. I think the best move is to add a little flavor packet (i.e. Kool-Aid, Crystal Light) to your seltzer water. You do have to buy replacement CO2 tanks that are $15 at Bed, Bath and Beyond when you bring the old one in, but those only need to be replaced every few months. I think it is a good machine, but if I were to buy one I would wait to get a really good deal and just use it for seltzer water unless I had a killer homemade pop recipe. Honestly, with the price of their syrup you might as well buy Coke, Pepsi and 7UP products.

What other liquids would you want to put in there, R Kelly?

These things like this always crack me up. If you want soda then buy soda. No way am I buying some machine and doing all that crap and then having to clean the thing and all. Nah, just open the bottle and pour it into a glass.

Good call.

It's like idiots who buy ice cream makers. I bet in the history of those stupid things, people use them once and then never again.

Like I said, the reason I would buy and use it is I like my soda with a lower carbonation level. Plus, some of the flavors look good. Also being able to make your own combinations.

You can't take flat Coke and put it in there and hope it will revive it. You're not supposed to put your syrup in and then add the carbonation. If you ever look at a soda machine in a store or restaurant you'll notice that soda water always has its own slot on the machine.

I don't think any of their flavors compare to any of the ones sold in a bottle.
