"How does promoting Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn get you any closer to a championship?" said stupid Bernstein.

I am a little surprised Hahn accepted the position. Kenny does not seem like the kind to sit back and let Hahn do his job.

Kenny is a pud! and the partners cant stand the guy. The fact he is the GM and cant say hello, smile and basically be friendly to some people is why he is being bumped upstairs. Remember the partners write the checks at the end of the year if the attendance is 26th in the league and the payroll is 5th! Not Jerry!

The rumor was out there to start the season that this would be his last year. A few Sox fans here even asked if I had heard it...

Leaving aside the chascappopian use of the English language, this would seem to make no sense.

As President he will have more interaction with the partners and non-baseball people who you indicate he can't get along with and don't like him.

He will have the same interaction with them....zero....he has a job because Jerry loves having him as his bulldog and taking the heat on issues....partners cant stand him and actually wanted him canned! Kenny will be the President because it appears like a promotion.

The GM's of teams like the Sox present scenarios/budgets each year to the controlling partners. Basically they state if we spend this (X) we will draw Y and make or lose Z..

+ 1

If I were Hahn, I'd hold out for a better opportunity.

Don't forget that it allows Reinsdorf to, much as the Cubs win the imaginary attendance championship, win the imaginary diversity championship. Did you know Jerry Reinsdorf went to Jackie Robinson's first game?????

  Idiocy. What better opportunity could there be for Hahn? He will be the GM of an MLB team.

If I were Hahn, I'd hold out for a better opportunity with another MLB team as GM.

Hello!

Hahn has become one of those guys that is always the second or third choice for GM jobs. He interviews every year and no one hires him for the position.

Hahn is not like KW in that he does not cheat on his wife. Instead, Rick takes his wife to swingers clubs where they perform their signature move The Hahn Sandwich
