I have my own GI issues man -- gas like you wouldn't believe. Not just flatulence, but I mean gas from the stomach up, gas in the esophagus, gas all over the place. And it has no rhyme nor reason with what I eat or drink. I could eat a full pizza and have nothing happen for three hours, then all the sudden, I'm gassed up for the next five. I wake up in the morning, no gas. Drink my coffee, no gas. Eat half a bagel, I'm in gas prison for 5 hours. Seems like no matter what it is, my stomach ain't happy about it. Wish I could pin it down to a kidney pain or something, but I don't even have anything to give the docs to go on. I guess more of an annoyance than anything else, but if drinking cranberry juice would work, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Try Ginger Root & Peppermint tea, Black licorice root chewables, acidophilus supplements, and activated charcoal caps. Occasional use of digestive enzymes or lecithin sprinkled on the Cheerios probably wouldn't hurt either.

I bet that would help you, and might allow whatever is so fucked up down there some time to heal-up. Also, drink a lot of water - at least half a gallon a day.

Get seen by a real doctor, though, to rule out any chronic illness.

Next time, just tell me what not to take.

All the best to your dad.

Thx, dudeskis.

Probably wouldn't be a problem if he would only drink water. I was reading that it is impossible for the stones to form if you drink at least half a gallon (64 oz.) of water each day, and if you add a capful of lemon juice to that, it is even more preventative of the calcium stones (80% of stones).

That is not necessarily true and a lot of what you read is not factual. There are many reasons for getting them, but I don't honestly believe they competely know why. They also can be hereditary as my dad and brother have had them.

And and please give an ancillary DB to the entire ER Experience. I have done a few all-day waits in ER with my dad for his various ailments. What a waste of time and aggravation, especially when watching the ER nurses just sitting around yakking, facebooking and chewing gum. After all that they will decide to admit him. That results in another 2 hour wait.

If KS made this comment, it could be taken a whole different way.

You should have used the "I'm sorry you're..." meme. :D

:D I don't joke about those....I've heard they are killer pain. I'm always worried because I know I drink a bunch of crap and not much water.
