His captains picks were uninspiring to say the least.

Love's bad decisions got them to a 10-6 Saturday lead. Sorry, I don't blame DLIII for this loss at all. Europe simply won.

Why did Keegan sit on Saturday afternoon? No idea. I'm sure it had something to do with Mickelson wanting to sit and Love not wanting to split up that team.

Um, DL III's decisions also got Woods Stricker to 0-3 after Saturday.

You still want to give him all that credit in a tourney the US just lost by 1 point?

So, by my simple math, one less loss by Woods/Stricker OR one more win by the hottest 2 players in the entire world this weekend.......let me see......carry the one..........

The US wins. It's on him.

That... that might be a good point. If DLIII has to be questioned here, because apparently someone has to, the captain pick of Steve Stricker and/or Jim Furyk over the likes of Hunter Mahan should be the issue.

 Right, DLIII had everything to do with Tiger and Stricker playing like ass all week.

I suppose hindsight is always 20/20. I took no issue with how Love managed his roster.

The whole contrarian thing takes a lot of work. In all other previous RC losses, a TON of blame always falls on the captain. Always. They just lost in historic fashion.

Come on. It's on him.

Tiger and Stricker sucking on Friday is on them. Even having the chance to suck on Saturday is on DL3.

Fury and Phil were each one up going into 17...0 points between them two.

And there are your five goats...put them in any order you wish.

"Hind sight"??? What are you talking about? Twitter, personal conversations - hell, several people on this freakin site - were begging DL III to sit Tiger Friday afternoon. He could not hit an iron or tee shot to save his life. He wasn't missing by a little, he was hitting the ball into other fairways. He was the worst player on the course by far. It was almost comical. You don't remember that?

How are you not blaming the captain of the team for blowing the biggest loss in US Ryder Cup history? Really?

Yeah, hind sight. You know, that thing people do when the event is over and someone needs to be the scapegoat. It's a pretty easy thing to do most of the time. Happens often, especially on this site.

There's no guarantee that Woods sitting Friday afternoon, or Bradley/Mickelson playing Saturday afternoon, translates to another point for the U.S. That's why I can't blame the captain for this loss. Europe simply won.

I don't get the defense of Love. I really don't. Historic collapse and the captain doesn't get blame. Unreal.

I also hate the Packers right now.

Despite the outcome, much better viewing experience today. Got there a little late and headed to 11 green where we were right by the green only one back from the rope so we saw everything. Then went back the VIP Comcast sportsnet tent cause my buddy had passes. They had a nice buffet and open bar going all day so we hung out there a lot. Had a great view of 18 from there and also 13 green if you walked tot he other side of the pavilion.

Parked at someone's house next to Eaglewood resort and learned that on the way out all you gotta do is walk to #5 and there is a hole in the fence to sneak through. So after the matches I walked back to 5 and was pretty much the only person on the course...saw one of the leader board pavilions and took the opportunity to help myself to a few of the player name magnets. Got Woods, McIlroy, Bradley and Snedeker. Could've taken all of them, but didnt want to be greedy. Stuck them to my car and took a nice pic, I'll try and figure out how to post it.

Mickelson just stuck up for Davis in the media center re: he and Keegan sitting Saturday afternoon. "If anything, blame me. Don't put that on him."

I give up.

I'll end with this:
It's the biggest collapse in the history of the U.S. Ryder Cup. And they lost by (essentially) a 1/2 point. The Captain cannot escape blame in that situation.

While Im not that much of an Anglophobe , I didnt watch much of todays stuff primarily because I didnt want to watch the US choke away that lead but it would seem to me that Woods and Stricker have the most 'plaining to do for bringing the suck so much first 2 days. Then DL3 for running them out there again. Tiger isnt the intimidating clutch ( :| ) player he once was. To not get 4.5 fucking points in 12 matches is pretty inexcusable.

I cannot fucking believed they gagged this away. This is the exact reason I did not watch one second of this today.....I couldn't have stomached this. Props to Ed Sherman on yesterday's Scorecard who said "Everyone needs to take it easy....there's a lot of golf to be played".

I did see the postgame presser.....SHELL SHOCKED !!!!! I'd bet on an absolute U.S. ass beating at Gleneagles next time around.

And I've always hated DL3. This just adds to it.

I haven;t watched any press conferences....

Has DL III stepped up and assumed responsibility, or is he just letting Phil fall on the sword?

I read something where he said "i wouldn't change anything, they just got into a hot streak".

Phil is a better team player than others.

I am not buying this is a collapse until someone can properly define collapse for me.

Tiger played a lot better than his numbers. He sucked friday morning and got off to a slow start in the afternoon and then birdied something like 4-5 holes on the back nine to get his team back into it only to have Stricker suck and give him no help in the comeback. Then Saturday afternoon he played well, especially on the back where he birdied 4-5 holes again, but his partner was a bum and he was unlucky to run into the hottest putting display in Ryder history from the big Belgium.

Then Sunday, he was 1 up sitting in the middle of the fairway on 18 when it ended.

As far as the team goats, he's not even in the top 3 which is reserved for Stricker, Furyk and Snedeker. Those 3 played far worse than Tiger and easily cost the US the Cup.

Also, take away one session (saturday morning) from Bubba and he was pretty brutal the rest of the weekend. Simpson got no help from him in their win Saturday afternoon and then he got schooled by Donald sunday.
