I didn't feel very appreciated. I'm not sure what they did different than any other day. I know they played a horrible game and lost. The players couldn't sign autographs because they had to concentrate on the pennant race. The giveaways seemed to be the crap they had lying around. Appreciate The Fans!

Oddly enough, the crowd was very upbeat. I can't really see why. I certainly wasn't too happy. But I talked to a couple people who were attending their first game all season. I find that kind of odd. But maybe that's the kind of fan the Sox want, the kind that doesn't really care about the overall results but rather just the current moment of the game they're attending and how many pictures they can take and post to Facebook. While the Cubs can get away with that, I don't really think the Sox can. I would have made Sale sign fucking autographs until his arm fell off.

as i mentioned elsewhere, albeit in a rambling sense.... my nickname for this whitesox season popped up around june/july or whenever the tigers first walked up and forcefully kicked them in the genitals, fucked their wives and mistresses, then drove off in one of their cars:

Wikipedia wrote:
The Bataan Death March Tagalog: Martsa ng Kamatayan (Japanese:Batān Shi no Kōshin (バターン死の行進?)) (1942) was the forcible transfer, by the Imperial Japanese Army, of 60,000 Filipino and 15,000 American prisoners of war after the three-month Battle of Bataan in the Philippines during World War II. All told, approximately 2,500–10,000 Filipino and 300–650 American prisoners of war died before they could reach Camp O'Donnell. Death tolls vary, especially amongst Filipino POWs, because historians cannot determine how many prisoners blended in with the civilian population and escaped.

The 128 km (80 mi) march was characterized by wide-ranging physical abuse and murder, and resulted in very high fatalities inflicted upon prisoners and civilians alike by the Japanese Army, and was later judged by an Allied military commission to be a Japanese war crime.

honestly, i was so in the zone with this one that i had no idea i was pretty much spot on of the timing of when the death march started after all of the fighting. lucky guess, eh?

Sox looking at 8000 season ticket holders next year.

but on the upside, only have to pay like $400,000 for rent this year. Thats like $5000 a game, not sure that covers the light and water bills for the state.

Is 8000 the real number? Only 8000 season ticket holders? Wow. I mean I know the Sox are like a small market team, & have a fan base that might be 20% what the Cubs is, but still...
I've said it a hundred times...Jerry really screwed up by not building new Cominskey Field in the NW suburbs.

Was told they dropped over 6000 season ticket holders last year and are below 10,000 right now, with expectations to lose another 2,000 this year, as they have the easy ability to call most of them. Figure it's really only about 2000-3000 people that own those 8000 tickets. They have like 8 season ticket reps, so 300-400 people to contact per rep.

But remember, "ALL IS WELL AT THE CELL"

Not that I care about this personally, but for the second consecutive year the players didn't sign autographs on "Fan Appreciation" Day. Last season it was raining a little. Can't let the millionaires get wet. This season they were in a serious pennant race and had to concentrate on business.

Nobody's, but do you think any kids came expecting to get a couple? Maybe next time they go to a water park instead.

Getting autographs at a water park seems stupid. There's water everywhere.

Going to a water park in late Sept/early Oct seems rather silly as well.

The Sox could not sell water in the Sahara. Maybe these mopes will send out a few surveys to see what the APPRECIATED FANS want?

Apparently a first place team for a majority of the season wasn't enough.
