I saw highlights of the Baylor WVU game. The guy is legit good. He's labeled dual-threat, but that does him a dis-service. Most dual threats are runners that can make the dink and dunk passes. This guy is a true runner with a NFL arm. He was nailing long downfield passes all day. He's that good. And from what I read here, he seems like a high character kid.

That game West Virginia's Geno Smith racked up nearly 700 yards passing and 8 TDs was a 70-63 shootout win over Baylor was broadcast on FX last Saturday.

He'll get the Gus Johnson/Charles Davis/Julie Alexandria treatment Saturday night. West Virginia/Texas is the second game of a "FOX College Football Saturday" doubleheader that starts at 2P Saturday afternoon with Stanford/Arizona.

Baylor D is approximately #100. So he can be impressive against a bottom 20 defense. Yes he made the throws...to open receivers. A few weeks ago, WV played Maryland, which is ranked about #40 D and had just 365 yds and 24 offensive pts. Now they finally play a top 15 D. It is going to look very different when he is pressured and struggles to find open receivers who can't get separation against a faster Texas secondary. We will see..

I wasn't aware Baylor D was that bad. 325 passing ain't bad either. But you are absolutely right... The true test will be Texas. Prolly best defense in the Big 12.

I wish my team had a QB that could go for JUST 365 yards through the air
