I don't understand how guys like Neeson get cast as action heros. The guy is pushing sixty and doesn't look particularly athletic. Meanwhile, women over 40 have a difficult time getting any role other than the bitchy mother in law, thank god.

Milfs only go so far in Hollywood, whereas men want to still be heroes into their sixties. Hell, look at how much people marked out that Chuck Norris was going to be in Replacements II.

There was a sequel to the movie where a guy got his heart removed.

I was hoping at some point in the film that Liam Neeson would say, "My family's been taken *slow turning look at the camera*....too."

It's not about how many times his family can be taken. It's about how many times an audience can be taken. Judging from the opening weekend take of 60 million dollars (more than double what the first Taken made already) their judgement was sound.

RT has it pegged at around 20%. It sucks, the first was a good time but this is just a cash in. The scam worked, it grossed a bunch of money.

Ticks me off that a stale, unoriginal turd like Taken 2 rakes in the cash and Dredd, which was well reviewed and well liked, bombs.

It's a sad state of affairs.

Well, in a few years we get "Taken 3: The fleecing of the movie going audience."

And what will be the sentence for those who make and see that movie?

The fact this film got panned by critics says a lot more about more about them than it does about this film if you ask me. I found it marginally less entertaining than the original (probably because the whole shock of Liam Neeson being a badass, whereas it's expected now).

Problem is a lot of his comedy is his dramas are so dumb they are comedies!

You're so dumb.. when they were passing out brains, you thought they said "Trains".. and then, you got on it.. on a train, then went for a ride!

well, it's the biggest dilemma in moviegoing history since 1986 when people had to determine whether to see "gobots: battle of the rock lords", "howard the duck", or "aliens".

Poor GoBots. Although I did have some GoBot toys as a youngster and some Rock Lords whose biggest thing was to transform into....rocks.
