Just a question.

I sometimes catch drink's updates during the lunch hour. He's been doing updates for M&S for a while. I didn't think much of it the first few times, but It's now become a pattern.

Drink likes to make bad jokes and snarky comments. He desperately wants to talk to Spiegel and Mac. He wants attention from them. He wants to be included in their show. He wants their acceptance. They don't seem to like it. They want him to finish his updates and get back to their show. They don't want to do the "B&B stupidity talk" thing. You can tell by the way they talk to him. They're not amused or engaged by his dumb comments or jokes. I epecially sense it in Mac's voice. Like I said, I've noticed this over the last few weeks. This hasn't been a one time thing. What do you guys think? Anybody else agree? I just hear it during the noon hour? Is it this way all the time?

By the way, when the hell does Kerry Sayers come back? Or did she get fired? Seems like an awful long maternity leave.

Abattacola is much better than Sayers...stay away Kerry.

I agree, totally. His motives are obvious...he also hates working on the B$B show or at least dislikes it for reasons already stated. I wish Matty was the fill in and not Finfer, I also think Matty feels the same.

If they hated him, they wouldn't let him do updates. I do think that Mac, being a Radio Discipline Guy, has little patience for the tendencies of scoreboard updates to descend into self-indulgent, editorialized flights of fancy, and would just like to keep the show moving.

In fact, I haven't noticed Matt's updates to be particularly opinionated or circuitous. Connor and the Randazzler never are, and Zach, for all we make fun of him, is really good at getting in and out of an update with no bullshit. Rodewald is kind of the last man standing from the Scoreboard Update As Intentional Unintentional Comedy Bit approach.

B&B wing their show. Drinky is used to that style. Like Goff and drink are allowed to create a dumb topic about their lives on the B&B show to kill segments.

Goff: You know what I hate? Old crackers in front of me at the check out line in the grocery store. Blah, blah, blah.

Terry: Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

That sort of thing. Mac plans his show and doesn't want to do this "dumb talk thing". He wants to stick to his schedule. Drink needs to understand this.

Give it time. Goff and Larry used to sub on that show. Remember?

I'd say they enjoy his updates. They joke around with him quite a bit. Hearing the fill ins really illuminates how bad Sayers is at her job.

No, really. This is opposite of what happened with Kerry. The hosts would try to get her involved and she would have none of it.

If Matty was really that disliked, he would not being doing updates on their show in the first place.

Not really. Maybe Mac and Spiegs didn't know they hated him until they had to deal with him every day. Sometimes you don't know you hate someone until you're around them every day.

But Mac doesn't seem to be a drinky guy from what I've heard. That's my point. There is awkward tension when Matty tries to talk to them. They don't want to engage him. Don't tell me I'm not hearing that cuz I am.

Maybe they'll tolerate him for a few weeks if Kerry is coming back eventually. If Mac knows it's temporary, he won't go to Mitch like he did with Goff and Larry.

Forgive me, I'm getting off topic. Mac hates Drinky.
