It's very unfortunate.

RIP to the senior Girardi.

The death of Joe Girardi's father is obviously very sad and it makes me feel a little bit guilty about sometimes calling for Joe Girardi's immediate termination. Needless to say, I will refrain from swearing at Joe Girardi this evening, and he can return next year with my full stamp of approval.

Very sad indeed.

TNT has first pitch of Cardinals/Nationals Game 4 momentarily until the end of Giants/Reds Game 5 and will then relocate to TBS. TNT has the Tigers/A's Game 4 later this eve @ 8:30P in its entirety.

I have just read that Joe Girardi's father had Alzheimer's disease. My mother is in the early stages of dementia, and every week that goes by a little bit of her dies. I can barely have a rational conversation with her anymore. It is truly a sad and cruel disease.

My prayers go out to the Girardi family.

My prayers go out to your family also, it is a extremely cruel disease. I wouldn't wish it upon any family.

Derek Jeter is in the Yankee lineup leading off Game 4 vs. the Orioles, but is DH-ing due to a bone bruise suffered in last night's Game 3. Alex Rodriguez is at 3B batting 5th this eve, while onetime ex-White Sox 2B Jayson Nix is playing SS and batting 9th as the Yankees are one win away from another appearance in the ALCS.

Well, Jayson Nix played a season and part of a second with the White Sox. Nix was "designated for assignment" before a certain someone wearing #15 for the Sox now was called up.

You may have heard of him...#15 Gordon Beckham, Atlanta, GA.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

The whole "best fans in baseball" thing really is overplayed. Heard Rooney bitching about the Nats' fans booing the Cards when they were introduced yesterday..."Cardinals fans would never do that!"

I put up with three hours of a drunk asshole talking shit to Nelson Cruz at Game 2 last year...keep your "best fans in baseball" crap...

Hughes was playing with fire the first few innings of this game. He is lucky this isn't 2 or 3 to nothing. That being said, the fact this is only 1-0 favors the Yankees. Got a good feeling the Yankees will put up a few runs and win this.

Didn't realize Arroyo was the #3 starter on the Reds. I would have pitched him today with a game 5. Oh well. Reds weren't going to win it without Cueto anyways. More pitchers killed by Dusty.

Verlander is dealing. Doesn't look good for the A's tonight.

Rooney is fucking insufferable. They scored an error a hit or vice versa in game 2 and he said "thank you bob Rosenberg." Seriously? I never remember him being this big a dick with the Sox. He has really bought into the whole "cardinal nation" schtick.

Isn't he a native? Easy to buy in. Still, it's amazing to find a broadcaster who was more professional while employed by the White Sox.

Not looking good for the A's here. Verlander's got this.
