As a once-in-a-blue-moon caller he was funny. Weekly bit is too much.

Mike in Milwaukee went to UW-LA CROSSE?!? Long road down.

I don't think so, it's too random. And I don't think B&B would say its not a bit when it actually is. I think overall, I enjoy his appearances more than most. He's got a stadium fetish, for Christ's sake.

It strikes me as a procedural error that nobody bothered to correct, like Milton collecting a paycheck five years after getting laid off.

If Terry mentions a red stapler...

I think it makes a mockery of the award that these two have votes. Not a huge fan of the Heisman, but Boers? Mercy.

I think Mike's absolutely terrific. Probably one of the best things they've got going on the show. It's only about 5 minutes a week, and it's a much better call than a know-it-all caller.

Exactly. Mike's my drunk uncle. Mostly inebriated and meandering, but every once in awhile makes cogent points and can be surprisingly funny, both intentionally and unintentionally. Fuck, it's better than the head coach of NIU.

.......No.

He can be funny.

But often times, more so now than in the past, his bit just drags on and on and on.

I ain't hatin' as I believe it is worth giving him a shot because when it works...well, IT WORKS.

P.S. K.S. is gay.

I'm convinced it's a bit, but they swear it's not. He just seems to convienently be at the same level of intoxication every time he calls.

How would you know any of that if you never listen? Or are those times when you just happen to jump in the car and the radio just happens to be on 670 and you just happen to get stuck listening?

But I am gay.

I used to be a B&B Acolyte like yourself, KS. I've listened to enough Mike In Milwaukee to know what the deal is. And I have never said that I "NEVER" listen anymore just that I "RARELY" listen anymore.

For example, I listened to the show the other day and it was bad.

Im out of that game. The NIU references made me look your way. Maybe Bagels, but he has been mostly M.I.A.

Actually, it reads like a WZ mult (who, coincidentally - is back on board), but you are the one that references Otto's from time to time....so.......

It's WZ.

well i'm on the podcast now searching the 5pm hour cuz you say they're talking about vlad.... i remember at bourbonnais in 2009 i got a pic with terry and bullshitted with him, and he repeated over and over again "no chance in hell" that vlad gets in teh HOF.

then imagine my surprise a year or two ago when vlad's name got mentioned as a possible HOFer, terry brought him up and said that he's always been beating that drum that's for sure.... i did a spit-take and nearly choked on my cigarette puff as i heard that.

i'm listening now.... we all know that dan creams himself over bbref's player comparisons, and like, while vlad's regular comprable player list isn't all that, his comprable by age one is quite nice:

I heard them trumpeting Pedro as a HOFer. Why give him a pass, as a player from the height of the steroid era? In my eyes, he's no different McGwire, Palmeiro, Clemens, Bonds, etc.

EVERYONE IS TAINTED

Exceptions
1. A.J.
2. Verlander
3. Pedro, maybe

BUT SERIOUSLY OTHER THAN THAT EVERYONE IS TAINTED

No. If anything, it's been a constant "we have to question it."

Selective angry listening has always been a skill I reserved for Mike North. By the way, this isn't directed towards Spanky.

I've also missed the Bernsie-Verlander worship.

I mean, he's a bad-ass pitcher, so everybody that likes baseball should respect what he does, but I didn't realize Bernstine had a thing for him more than other guys.

They didn't smack down the 45 year old guy who claimed Verlander was the best pitcher in his lifetime hard enough. They just kind of politely disagreed and it took a long time before Terry finally mentioned the best pitcher of his generation and arguably the best left-hander in the history of the game.

Of course, Pedro has the numbers that are going to appeal to bernstein, the giant ERA+. But he seemed puzzled that he didn't have the amount of decisions that other guys did. Randy Johnson picthed over 200 innings twice as many times as Pedro. Innings pitched are far more important than people give them credit for. When Gio Gonzales can only get five innings, guys like Storen have to come in. Johnson and Verlander finish that game.

A couple weeks ago, they both heavily implied that Mike Trout is probably on steroids. The very next day, the A.J. rumors started circulating, and both of them basically said "That's absurd! There's no evidence!"

They haven't outright denied that Verlander is juicing, but like Pedro, he serves as an instructive example of how EVERYONE IS TAINTED except the guys they like.

Anywho, as far as Mike goes, I believe the 5:30ish thing is now pretty much a scheduled event.....so it's not surprising that he consistently calls around that time.

Also, if it's not a bit, it's not surprising that he sounds as though he's had a few by that time of the day. If I'm not mistaken, he's retired. He's also an alcoholic (if it's not a bit)

I've worked with alcoholics that started drinking at 6am on their off days.

He has been caught calling from bars around his area, I think it's probably legit.

He is a drunk old man who forcibly gives his wife painful anal 3 times a week. That's alright by me.

What happened to Stan from Bellwood? That guy would call in on Christmas and now seems to have quit cold turkey.
