I really wish I would have auditioned now. I've had some other projects going on, so I thought it best not to, and I was discouraged from entering by Ten Foot Midget. I probably could have done this.

I'm going to try to listen again, but God is my witness, I hear one thing about Sox attendance and I'm throwing my radio out the window.

"Hello Chicago, I'm Steven Berger & were going to talk Chicago sports".

This guy is in the wrong business...

"Tonight we are talking some sports." o rly?

"Criminals versus Catholics" it's Catholics versus convicts

A most phlegmatic "So, welcome back, Notre Dame." heeeeeeey you gotta say it like you mean it

EDIT: "I'm a big fan of Jay Cutler" on this station?!? NAW

NARRATIVE TALK

What's so nice about seeing people "walking around in their college sweatshirts"? People walk around in college sweatshirts every day.

1:22 - a caller thinks that Steven Berger is taking Grobber's shift away! The caller is relieved to know this is not the case.

"...thank you."

No, he said Notre Dame moved a game there so they could sell beer, which they can't at Notre Dame Stadium. Then the caller said he wouldn't drink anyway because it's against his religion. Ha-rumph!

What the hell happened with the guy that got dumped? geez.

OH MY GOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING

2 crank callers in a row. There was dead air for 5 seconds or so, & Berger was completely flustered & had an even more difficult time putting words together.

Someone needs to crap Bernsie on WYC for picking this clown.

There has to be some dead air for the delay to reload. The machine stretches your silence out bit by bit until the air feed is ten seconds (or however many) back of the live audio.

Anyway, if people are going over the line in giving him a hard time, that's really shitty.

Hey, "Paranoid Android" bumper. That's the good stuff.

How in the fuck did Rosen & Bernsie pick this guy???

Another crank call & Berger says "good times with jerks...I'm not going to let them get to me" then he mumbles...

Caught a little of the show last week. Fucking brutal.

I tried out for the one McKnight won. Goff told me I had a commanding voice, was a LOCK for the final ten & was the best/most talented he had heard so far. Yea, nope. Never got the call.

This is not the time or place for a cookie cutter radio show as others have mentioned. After reading Sini for a little while now, I would listen if he was on overnights.

This is really a shift you should be having fun with. Berger sounds like he has zero experience & almost as if he's being forced to do the show. Pathetic.

Gonna try to liveblog another Bergstravaganza, but no guarantees. I'm really tired, and this is an unredeeming exercise. I wonder if he'll say that this is a live and local sports talk radio show on the radio in Chicago, Illinois.

I'm listening too. Remember that this is live sports talk radio in Chicago!

How in the fuck did Bernsie think that Berger was any good? He sounds like he is scared shitless.

That wasn't a crank caller. That was a drunk caller.

"Hey. Remember when Shaquille O'Neal made a rap album?"

Steven didn't. I do! You see, freshman year of high school, I was taking an intro to drafting class because I thought I was going to be an architect. I was a freshman amidst mostly sophomores, most of whom were basketball geeks who found the mere existence of Shaq-Fu hilarious. So eventually it became A Thing, when bored, for someone to shout out

"Hey Shaq! Where you at?"

to which people would shout back

"I'M OVUH HEE-UHH!!!"

And this is how we amused ourselves when trying to draw something called a "stop bracket." I dropped the class after the first semester.

With Raul Ibanez the Yankees would have won the World Series already. Quad-box...if you want to talk about that give me a call. How could it be a trap game if a lot of people are talking about it.

These were just a few of the gems I caught from the 10 minutes of time I listened to this evening. My ears and my head now hurt. If this was the best that came out of the competition then I would have to say that either the fix was in, the talent was that bad or someone is taking care of a friend. This show is brutal.

I thought they gave him 2 hours? Either way, the little that I've heard has been rough. Fatty should've won.

Yea, the big guy was great. Mitch needs to stop listening to Bernsie.

It is 1-3A Sunday mornings for the Steven Berger experiment. So far, I haven't sampled Steven's show. Based on what I've read, not so good...

Then he should learn how to talk first before he starts stuttering on the air.
