Drinky: I'll do it.

Mitch: Hell no, Abbatacola. Over my dead body.

Drinky:

Seriously, who gets this important position?

He can't be a worse NBA expert than he is an NFL expert. This is the guy who insisted Chad Hutchinson was the starter ten minutes before he was cut and who picked the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl when they are, in fact, the worst team in the entire league. Still, I'm sure he has better thoughts on Carmelo than Jason did.

The last NBA expert they had was Doug Collins.

I second the nomination of Hub.

"Guys, I gotta tell ya, I know Bulls fans out there are excited about getting the top seed in the Eastern Conference again this season, but let's be honest, ehhhhhhh, this team is a few lucky breaks from being 20-62! Now if you want to talk about talent--I know this isn't exactly a popular opinion among the masses out there, but I think the Charlotte Bobcats are a really, really good basketball team. I just love the way they're put together. Now, I'm not in the prediction business, ehhhhhhhnobodyknowswhat'sgonnahappennext, yaknow? Heh heh heh! But gun to my head, I'm picking the Bobcats to win it all this year."

Schuster makes sense, but WSCR will then need to hand off some of Schu's other reporting to someone else.

If they want to replace how good Goff was at covering the NBA, they need someone who loves the whole league, not just a local team to make a good analyst.

Leery has said before that "all these people" think he's a big NBA fan just because he's black, but actually he's first and foremost an NFL fan. So that being said it'll be him.

This thread was meant as a joke. They won't replace Goff. Goff begged Mitch for this role and title. He never got paid for it. It just got him to Bulls games for free. That was enough for him. Sure, the Score will have NBA reporters as guests on the station, but they won't be paid. They don't need an NBA expert. Nobody in Chicago cares about the NBA other than the Bulls. It's not like the NFL.

I don't buy that. Plenty of people follow the NBA beyond the Bulls, though I'll give you that their doing so is ultimately an extension of following the Bulls.

Who was the Score's NBA expert before Goff somehow became one? Nobody. I'm talking about a paid contributor like Stone and Hub. They don't need one. Mitch won't pay for one. I don't blame him. It's wasted money. For the B&B show, Bernstein has the NBA covered anyway. Goff learned the NBA from him.

They had Chuck Daly and Doug Collins in the past.

If B and B had any comedic balls they would just prop a puppet up in the studio as the bulls expert. The Bulls are going to be an almost non existant story until February and won't amount to much after that. Have a little fun with it while also making a commentary about the importance the station places on the position.

They had Chuck Daly and Doug Collins in the past.

They also had Hubie Brown in the early years of The SCORE, long before he coached the Memphis Grizzlies and became Mike Tirico's analyst on ESPN/ABC's coverage of the NBA. Bulls' fans in recent years have been accustomed to hearing those two, along with sideline reporter Heather Cox or Doris Burke whenever Bulls' games aired on either outlet.

As for who replaces Jason Goff as The SCORE's in-house Bulls Insider besides David Schuster, I'm not sure who SportsRadio 670 AM has in mind, if anyone. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski was a SCORE contributor the year LeBron James decided to take his game to South Beach.

I don't know if Scoreheads would be able to handle Bill Walton, but he might be a national option if he wanted it. When Walton used to be a regular guest on "The Dan Patrick Show" when DP was on ESPN Radio, as soon as Dan said "Good morning, Bill", I remember Bill would deliver quite an essay about basketball & life that seemed to last a good 5 minutes before Dan would ask his first question. Walton was in studio with "B & B" a couple months ago, and I was entertained. Like I said, I don't know if he'd be interested, but I also don't think he's with ESPN/ABC anymore...

The Bears driving towards the playoffs with a second half of the season that is destined to produce drama and ND fighting for a national championship will choke out any other competition.

I'll bet you a Polish sausage that there's going to be a show in January in which multiple segments are spent complaining about Vladimir Radmanovic, citing rebound statistics from around the league, and lamenting the fact that if Nate Robinson is getting Significant Minutes, you cannot win a championship, and I. WANT. BANNERS.
