Joe Girardi should be fired tomorrow.

Instead of sticking with his team, he panicked.

Yankees going to be no-hit? That would be icing on the cake.

It is only my opinion, but I think you are wasting some good hatred on an undeserving target.

According to ESPN.com, C.C. Sabathia signed for a total package to seven (7) years and one hundred sixty one million dollars ($161,000,000.00). Per an ESPN New York story dated December 11, 2008, "the Brewers made a five-year, $100 million offer, but with much of the money deferred. The Giants, according to sources, never made a formal offer, but indicated they could be willing to extend a bid slightly lower than the Brewers' offer if the deal was structured carefully."

What a jerk for not giving the Giants the sixty one million dollar ($61,000,000.00) hometown discount. Come on man!

I just assume every player is going to say a variation of that. Then go sign elsewhere/ It doesn't even register on my annoyance radar.

Fuck the owners. I've never understand why people always sympathize with the teams, most of whom are owned by rich corporate megalomaniacs.

Peralta just hit a home run and music started playing, but not over the ballpark's sound system, it was piped right into the audio mix of the television feed! What the hell?

Mike Ilitch doesn't look like he knows where the hell he is, or why he put an opossum on his head. No wonder NHL CBA negotations are going so poorly.

It's a good thing Beltran doesn't have to watch this game because all these curveballs would give him flashbacks.

God I hate the Cardinals.

Looks like my hope will be resting on Verlander, Fatty P, and the MVP

At least DET can set their rotation and that starting pitching is capable of dominating.

This Cardinal magic has to end sometime I would think.

As much as I have hated the Cardinals for pretty much my entire life, I admire the hell out of their organization. Somehow, no matter what their roster looks like, they compete & win. One of the greatest Managers in the history of the game retires, they replace him with a rookie Manager, let a HOF slugger leave, & here they are 1 game from the World Series.
Since 2000, the Cardinals have won the division 7 times, finished 2nd 3 times, finished 3rd 2 times, finished 4th once, have only had 1 losing season, & they have played in the National League Championship Series 7 times in the last 13 years, & have won 2 World Series.
I don't know how this stretch ranks in Baseball history, but its gotta be one of the best ever.

Is it really "magic"? Sure they got in as the five seed, but they also did not have Carpenter for 95% of the season. Their offense was the fifth highest scoring in MLB (4th in AVG, 1st in OBP, 9th in SLG). Carpenter, Wainwright, and Lohse at the front of the rotation. Allen Craig raked all season (when he wasn't hurt). This isn't exactly a Cinderella story.

By magic I mean guys like that SS who came out of nowhere to hit in the clutch. I also respect their organization esp. the hard throwers in that bullpen that come from the farm.

Having said that, I hope they lose all the rest of their games this year.

:D :D :D

Is it a magical streak of luck/skill/mojo/whatever "best fans in baseball"nonsense? Sure.

Are they a collective bunch of assholes that are proving the wild card system sucks in baseball? Indeed.

The "Best Fans in Baseball" narrative is tired.

If you require anecdotal evidence, the 3 biggest Cards fans on this board (that I am aware of) are lipidquadcab, redskingreg & myself. I think each of us at various times has come out and flat-out said that this is a canard mentioned by broadcasters that appeals to the meatball fan.

I get the hatred, it's no different than Frank and/or Bigfan posting inflammatory threads intended to insence the opposite fan base.

No. If the Wild Card is flawed, it's because it is flawed. Your usage of the term "assholes" coming from one of the largest fanbase and resource franchises in the game who has yet to win in over a century is ridiculous.

p.s. If you aren't a Cub fan, I apologai.

If you are, go back to some other thread and argue about the color commenter.

Asshole Cardinals fan in action. ^ The 100 years thing, wow, that's some painful shit. My heart? It is broken. You win. Your originality is stifling, and for that I applaud you.

And it's "Commentator." Plus for your information I hope the Cardinals do win the world series, simply so that the way they have won their titles (jerk off all season, masturbate into the playoffs and gladly abuse the 2-3-2/ASG homefield, and troll the MLB with rings) can be reviewed as a detriment to the sport, and the double-wild card eliminated.

The Cardinals suck. And so does Joe Buck and so did his pappy. Ozzie Smith is the most overrated player in the HOF. David Freese has a venereal disease. Go Detroit.
