The game is going to be a home game for the Huskers... or at least it will feel like that up in Evanston. Great weather, great time (2:30 PM instead of 11:00). If any of you are going... PM me and I will give you our location to get some free beer and pulled pork sandwiches. Tickets still available on stubhub and craigslist.

We are only 5 point dogs... I'm a little surprised by that... I would have thought more.

Rewatched this...

Without turnovers, Cats would've lost this game. Gotta play a pretty perfect game to beat the Huskers. They seem to struggle against mobile QBs. I hope we can do it. We certainly need for our run D to step up. They've been a pretty good run D so far, but a horrible pass D. Does that make us match up against Huskers? Maybe... Martinez has to throw much better than last year.

That game last year was a great thrill for me. Growing up,I always remember those crazy Nebraska scores where they would beat somebody senseless,73-0 or 54-3. NU was always the whipping boy until it's recent history. I'm sure Nebraska has this game circled after last year. NU's defense has a problem stopping the run. Hopefully, they go with "Run Prevent" D.

Love that Bernstien didn't even know they beat them in Lincoln last year and was prattling on about how beating them this year would be a statement win.

It was our signature win last year. I actually was at that game in Lincoln. The fans were obscenely nice... kinda weird to be treated so nice at a Big Ten game. They are like the anti-Ohio State. We made some husker friends last year and they will also be attending our tailgate. Should be fun.

By the way, our run defense is one of the best in the Big Ten so far... unfortunately we haven't played anyone as good on the ground as Nebraska. Abdullah and Burkhead are gonna be tough guys to tackle. But with Deonte Gibson, Chance Carter, Will Hampton and Brian Arnfelt, I'm pretty optimistic about our chances.

If we do, it will be the first decent team we've beaten.

The Evil Wizgerald hates Iowa so I know by 10/27, the Cats will want to pummel the Hawkeyes.

Yeah, over 500 yards of offense for big red (they still call them that?0

Kudo's to whomever was on the SCORE after the game was over for asking if Fitz has hit a wall with NU. He hasn't had a decent defense since he came there. If it's impossible to recruit defensive studs, how did Gary Barnett do it? The refs blew a intentional grounding call in the EZ against Nebraska, that didn't help. So that can't be reviewed???? A blatant terrible call like that. It might have changed the game around even though NU got the ball right back.

Still,if they finish 8-4,they might get a decent bowl.

Speeps, thanks for the quote. I guess Bull fan's can't admit what the rest of the NBA see's in DRose.

Did you even see the game? The defense was definitely NOT the issue.

T Martinez made some great throws during the last two drives. This was actually decent performance by the D.

I did not watch the game.

But I am curious how you can give up 500+ yards of offense and your defense is not an issue?

Yards don't equal points last I checked. Seriously. The offense was the letdown in this game. Watch the game.

The Wildcats amassed only 301 total yards on offense. They forced three turnovers, receiving some fortunate bounces on a couple of muffed punts in the first half and forcing a fumble on a deep drive. Northwestern had the opportunities to score and strike. There were three first half drives that started in Nebraska territory. Yet Northwestern was unable to convert. They put the defense in a bad position. Time of possession had to be mostly Nebraska. Defense was gassed and probably gave up at least a third of those yards on those final two drives. It was astoundingly frustrating.

I did watch the game. Losing a 12 point lead in the 4th quarter is on the defense.

The least they could do is wear their standard home unis.

Coupled with the new helmet:

I'd say that's a pretty sweet look. That being said, they should've won this game. Nebraska played like shit and still won.

New uniforms are cool but the cat on the helmet is too Jacksonville Jaguar-y for me.

Sorry,It was an ineffective offense also. That Venric Mark up the middle play was there again. They need to try a dump pass to that guy instead of 6-8 attempts at a bomb. (One DID work,so is 1 out of 8 a good %??)Those long throws kill a sustainable drive every time which led to the defense extended stays on the field. The Defense sucked, too. The one thing I will say is the Cats have a pretty good punter and maybe a kicker that could get a look in the NFL. The kid just missed that 53 yarder.

Keep it... I can't even watch these guys anymore. Worst 6-2 team I've ever seen. I'm convinced Colter is hurt and that's why they won't let him throw. Also our secondary is decimated... and we weren't deep anyway. Vandenberg should have a field day.

You vent seen JVB this year apparently. having a field day would be 200 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT

Good point! But The Mandenberg is gonna hunt us down like a bear. I just looked at the line and SURPRISINGLY NU is favored by 6.5. Man... I would give the points all day. I really think Colter is hurt and with the injuries to the DBs, we'll be starting CBs with barely any game experience.

Only if you are stupid enough to punt to him. Somehow I think Ferentz got the memo.
