I'll have an answer to yesterday's question tomorrow.

Here's today's question (apparently you need to be a zoologist to pass 5th grade English) -

One of these is different than the others and then describe in what way the other 4 are the same.

weasel, cougar, deer, rat, bear

I think I know this one.

The other four have paws instead of hooves.

We'll go with the hooves thing. Thanks.

I just hope I'm not sporting a bumper sticker next quarter that says "KID CAIRO COST MY KID THE HONOR ROLL".

Deer is the only strict herbivore?

At your age and with your eating habits, the most accomplished thing you could have done was taken a nice healthy dump.

Deer. It's the only thing IB has had sex with. And I'd say it's the only non-meat eater on the list.

horns, paws, herbivore...all good answers.

Cougar: The only noun you'd consider having sex with after too many jack and cokes.

I don't know.

After too many, a bear might sound good.

So the answer is that they all have branches.

How they expect a 9-year-old to understand obscure college organization terminology, I'm not sure.

What a stupid homework assignment. I remember mine being more like "If a train going 60mph left Toledo" or "If Johnny has 6 apples and Marcy has 3" type of questions.

I still think you should tell you kid to use our answers. Especially the IB thing. That kind of answer in school is likely to cause quite a stir in Kenilworth....both amongst the townsfolk and the deer.

They don't, just another parent homework assignment. I told Hawger Jr.'s teacher one time that I have already gone thru school and graduated college, my days of schoolwork are over.

One of the small Spaulding kids has come home with a few things that they really shouldn't be expecting him to do. We had a few worksheets when I was in school not projects. I'm not digging the starting sports so early either.

I remember questions like that, but the teacher didn't like me, so my test just said "If a train is leaving Chicago at 10:30am going 80 mph, be under it".

Sports I can handle, doing my son's 8th grade homework, not so much.

For the parents of school-aged kids, how would you say the "quantity" of the homework is? Regardless of the subject or relevance of the assignment - are your kids getting less/more homework than you would expect them to?
