Playoffs? Playoffs!?!? PLAYOFFS!!!!!?
-------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE:
A Dealbreaker Pick may be taken from you by someone else also using a Dealbreaker. This is called "nuclear option"
driver picking. Yes, this is unfair and everyone may use up their Dealbreakers going after the same driver, in the same week.

--------------------------------------
Everybody pick a driver each week. Nobody picks the same driver, picking is first come first served. The thread will be posted weekly. By rule, I get to pick Jeff Burton each week if I am so compelled. The newly released off probation and racelog co-host Keeping Score gets to pick Joe Nemechek every week. Tally up the points of the driver yous pick each week and reset the field after the Richmond race. This will be a 26 week play-in to the Chase For The Cup.
This means there will only be 43 spots available in this contest. SO SIGN UP EARLY AND OFTEN(you mults yous).

Then, starting with the first Chase race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, the Top 12 posters shall be assigned to the driver corresponding in the SPRINT CUP standings. They keep this driver for the duration of the Chase. The chosen 12 will also get to pick a driver out of the Chase to make things more interesting. And rack up the points for the championship.

Confused? Good. Reward? Yes. A prize of undetermined greatness will be given out after the season.

1. If you pick someone and one of the players ahead of you in the standings want that driver, you have to pick another driver. This will go on for the rest of the season, just like NASCAR. If you don't pick another driver by the drop of the green flag you will be assigned the best available driver based on qualifying. A poster can only have their pick bumped ONCE per week. Your second pick will be protected from getting bumped a second time. Unless someone uses a Dealbreaker award on you.

*Dealbreaker award
This rule has been added to let someone who picks a race winner to be given a Dealbreaker award. It would let the poster either pick bump anyone(except the leader) ahead of them in the standings or take somebodys second pick. It can be saved and used at anytime during the regular season, even right before the drop of the green flag. The Dealbreaker award is a regular season gimmick and none will be given during the playoff season. The awards can transfer to the playoffs, but all deals must be complete by the last regular season race Week 26 at Richmond.

Any players who get their pick bumped or somebody goes and uses the Dealbreaker on them, they will be PM'ed in a timely manner as possible. Dealbreaker awards are able to be bought, sold, or bartered. Players don't have to use them every week or ever use them at all and sell them to players that would really need it late in the regular season. The Dealbreaker may be dealt for straight cash homie, or you can trade some of your points, or work out something to job a player ahead of you in the standings.

Shenanigans are endorsed and encouraged by the Rules Cabal. All trades, deals, and any other kind of brilliant schemes must be presented in the weekly thread and approved by the Rules Cabal for them to be used that week. The value of the Dealbreaker award has yet to been set. I'll leave that up to those involved in the dealings. And let anyone say a single cross word about the Rules Cabal decisions and watch what happens.

2. Driver picking priority will be based off of the weekly standings. Enforcement of rule #1 is ironclad and absolute, unless I feel otherwise or my belly is filled with party liquor. Whichever occurs first.
3. Up to 43 people will be eligible for the contest during the first 26 races of the season. Once the Chase To The Cup starts, only the top 12 will advance to the playoffs.
4. You can sign up and never make a pick, you'll be assigned the best available driver based on qualifying that week.
5. Failure to abide by these rules will be dealt with the most harsh and unfair of judgements by the NASCAR Pick 'em rules cabal, err, committee.

It has always been The Speeps Era... It has always been The Speeps Era... RFDC moves into 2nd place. Hawg Ass was the big mover of the week with a win and 3rd place. He is now only 60 points back of Speeps. Yeah, this is down to about half of the field left. Scorehead is the long shot 63 back of the lead. Only four races left, next week is Martinsville.

Won't Chas have Jr. this week, I am fairly certain he will be back to making left turns.

Dealbreaking for a chase driver. This is uncivilized.

The Nascar Rules Cabal isn't trying to figure out if to penalize you, but just how many points to take away. And your Dealbreaker just for trying such a thought.

I humbly await the Cabal decision. May your capacious intellect and imbroachable wisdom lead you to the perfect resolution.

If the Cabal is pleased, I would elect McMurray as my other driver and I would like to donate my Dealbreaker to Hawg Ass for any pain and suffering I may have caused.

You have been warned. Any other crazed ideas you put in this thread, I'm going to have to start taking points away, from RFDC.

My guy Jeff Burton!! :bounce: :bounce:

May have to find a new favorite driver soon. :(

Burton says 2013 is "make or break": The 2013 season will be the 20th of Jeff Burton's Sprint Cup career, but next year won't be significant because of a milestone anniversary in NASCAR's premier series. "It's very make or break," Burton said. "It feels really important. It's on my mind already. It's been on my mind for a while. We've got to right this ship. We've got to do it now. This has gone on for two years. It goes on for three, that is too long." The veteran, who hasn't won in 145 starts and more than four years, is mired in his worst slump at Richard Childress Racing. His #31 Chevy is 19th in the Sprint Cup standings with four races remaining after ranking 20th in 2011. That puts Burton on pace for his worst back-to-back seasons since entering Cup with finishes of 24th and 32nd in points in 1994-95. "I certainly have less years ahead of me than behind me," Burton, 45, said. "So every year you don't have success feels like a big loss. How many more chances are we going to have?"

Speeps, ya, damn right

Who is the man that would risk his neck
For the Alliance man?
Speeps, can you dig it?

Who's the cat that won't job out
When there's Cairo all about?
Speeps, right on

They say this cat Speeps is a bad mother
Shut your mouth
But I'm talkin' 'bout Speeps
Then we can dig it

He's a complicated man
But no one understands him but the Alliance
Terry Speeps

Dr. Ken gets the 1-2 finish to pull within 8 points of ending the Speeps Era. 3 races left and this is a three horse race. RFDC, falls to third place, 18 points back on the outside rail trying to get in on the winning this whole deal. Scorehead , Ajent, and Hawg Ass in the second group over 60 points back of the lead. It will be hard to make up 20 points a race on the front runners. Everybody else, mark your calendars. Don't worry, we are less than 4 months until the 55th Annual Daytona 500.
