I am struggling to understand why no one is giving Iowa a chance on Saturday against PSU. Every expert is basically handing the game (and Coach of year) to PSU....People are pointing out how PSU has turned it on. They have beat Navy, Illinois, Temple and Northwestern. Outside of the Northwestern win, the other three are a combined 8-10. Their defense is very good. I'm not convinced their offense is that great shakes.

Iowa is favored by 3.... so someone isn't buying it. You know why the pundits are fawning over PSU. Because these headlines write themselves... "EMBATTLED TEAM RIGHTS SHIP... FIGHTS ADVERSITY... FINDING A WAY TO WIN WHEN NO ONE GAVE THEM A CHANCE"

My biggest concern going into this game is the health of Weisman. It appears he will not play but if he improves today, he will be out there Saturday. Penn State does nothing on offense that is particular strange or scary.

Very true, but apparently whatever they are doing offensively, they are doing well.

I left the game just after halftime.

Rhythmic slapping noises.

Poor Vince. Guess he has changed his opinion on the PSU offense.

That was easily the worst outing I've seen from an Iowa team since they start of the Ferentz era. Very disappointing on both sides of the ball.

Yes.

I thought I covered this in the Tim Beckman Sucks thread a few weeks ago.

@TomFornelli: The MAC has 6 bowl eligible teams. The Big Ten has 3 (not including Ohio State).

First time I've ever seen a Northwestern offensive line dominate a Iowa defensive line in... well, ever.

Don't be too proud - This might be the worst aggregation of talent on the Iowa line since the end of the Fry era. All of the talent is being redshirted.

How does Michigan have nothing at QB behind Robinson? The guy is a running QB so they should be preparing a backup to have to go in at any moment.

Gardner was a top QB prospect in the country, back when Pryor came out, and I had heard outplayed Robinson in off-season practices a few years ago but they converted him to a WR.

Denard Robinson is a horrible, horrible, horrible QB. He is an explosive player, but basically plays QB like he's in HS gym class.

Since the Purdue season has fallen apart, do they have to go win out to save Hope's job.

As another sign of the impending apocalypse, Indiana is a 1 point favorite this week over Iowa.

Iowa fans are ready to take fire to the Iowa football HQ.

Again, at least we ruined one team's national title hopes.

The gap is just too big. MAC schools just can't compete with the "big boys" of CFB:

Given the first 3 lines of stats that they, themselves, give, I don't see how they could put the MAC above the Big East there.

This season has been an absolute disaster. There must be a change or the stadium will be empty next year.

It's a shame because the talent level has been raised, but we have a coaching staff who isn't good at coaching and a stubbornness that borders on insanity.

At least we can sell a new coach on significant facilities upgrades that happened and will be announced relatively soon.

The only problem is that the new university president doesn't start until Jan 1st but hopefully he can trust the AD enough to let him make the decision.

Did Purdue win again? I was led to believe this was gonna be a big improvement year for them.

All I will say about the Boilers, the Hope era if not done tomorow, should be done at the end of the season.
