I cannot figure out what happened but I will always give a shoutout to someone being the wild card at a remote.

Something else must have happened. Mully said Cy drunkenly bumped into him at a remote then Mitch went after him and threw him out.

Sir loves to pile on when he has figured out someone has fallen out of favor at the station so something must have happened recently.

:?

Cy has been gone from the Score for a while. How can you fall out of favor if you don't work there? He was drunk at a M&H remote recently? How drunk can you get between the hours of 5am - 9am? How does Mitch have the authority to throw somebody out of a bar if they don't work for him?

You gotta explain this one better, Good Dolphin.

Yes, I thought that was a strange story also.

He just walks in with a hoodie over his head and throws a shoulder into Mully? Then Mitch throws him physically out after he buys him a beer? It would seem there is more to that story. I didn't get it.

You should attend a college football tailgate sometime, especially on homecoming weekend. Or a tailgate for a Bears game that starts at noon.

like Ken said, there were a lot of holes in the story

as far as Sir piling on, his Tommy Williams "keeping the brothers down" rant was years after Tommy left the station. Sir doesn't take his stance until he is 100% sure he is in the majority

Is Mitch an imposing physical presence?

No. I'd say he is like a less muscled George Costanza (not Frank, the guy who played Costanza).

If I remember correctly, Cy is about as imposing as Screech.

Well, do you at least know if it happened recently? Sounds to me like this must have happened years ago when Cy worked there. I think Cy left with Murph. I remember he blasted Murph on this board after Murph got fired.

Murph fired Cy while his dad was in the throes of terminal cancer from what I remember

IIRC Cy was in the TEElander band back in the day. Did he play the spoons, or sing? Can't remember.

This was because Cy let an entire Steve Stone segment go over the air with Stone's mic off such that Murph was just talking to himself. I bet this made for some really interesting experimental, Bob Newhart-esque sports radio, and not having Steve Stone on the air is kind of a good thing, but Murph was a Radio Pro and of course he lost his shit over this.

I heard Mully this morning. I get the impression he didn't finish the story because Mitch barged in and insisted on being part of it on the air.

I took it as Cy was screwing around at the remote, putting the hoodie over his head and bumping Mully, but ha-ha, it was just Cy messing around. But Mitch didn't know that and immediately jumped at him and was gonna throw him out until he realized who he was.......

There were several holes in the telling of the story.

Didn't have his head on straight on account of his dad dying. He posted the story here; I don't remember if I had the heart to say "dude, you're producing radio in Chicago, you still have to make sure people have their mics on."

EDIT:
Quote:
So Stoney is on for the first hour and I forgot to turn on his mic to start things. (Honestly I never was great at turning on mics) The interview finishes and Mitch comes in studio to ask Murph how the interview went. The talkback button was stuck, so I could hear their whole conversation and well it wasn't very flattering to me. Murph went on a bitch fest of how I didn't have Stoney's Mic on for the first segment. The man talked shit about me for about 3 minutes and nothing else. How I was doing a bad job, didn't pay attention and blah blah blah.

I couldn't believe it and I just snapped. I waited to the show ended but didn't even bother listening to that bitch. I did nothing for the last hour and even had my head down like I was sleeping. A few days earlier, he played all concerned about my father and then when he thinks Im not listening he is telling my boss how bad I am at my job. Fuck him. He tried to be nice as I was leaving and said "Hey Cy, what we got going on tommorrow" I told him he would figure it out and how he shouldn't trash people with the mic on. Then I heard him say something and I went back at him, but Murph didn't say nothing and I went home. From that point on I felt that Murph was a Cockfuck.

I guess all we've learned is that some people don't know how to tell a story. Either Mully or you guys.

The story account ranges from a drunk Cy committing an assault on Mully with Mitch coming to the rescue or it was just playful messing around. Wow.

I could have used the Beardown writing style and taken some poetic license extrapolated from the few facts presented. Instead, I just stated the little information that was presented and determined it was sufficient to give Cy some applaudes.

From what I heard, The mic slip-up was for a much shorter time period than was written here, and was barely noticeable to the listener.[/quote]

That's how I remember it. Murph went through producers like spaulding goes through free booze at a party, so I tend to side with Cy on the true severity of the situation.

But then it would have looked like this

Cy: :drunken:
Mully: :-x
Cy: :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:
Mitch:
Cy: :bom:

  Pretty sure I heard this interview as at the time I listened to Murph. Stone was "down" for about twenty (20) seconds maximum. They identified pretty quickly that Stone wasn't on. Murph was more agitated than usual, so the gaffe was a little hard to miss.
