I'm with the person who hates the incorporation of black when it is not a school color. The white on white with purple stripe is perfectly acceptable.

Let's all stop with alternative helmets. Dumb idea. Nobody needs an alternative helmet. I'm going to be a Debbie Downer here, but helmets shouldn't change. They should be the one thing that is consistent from every iteration of a uniform. If you want to try some neon purple design with a black and purple stripe, then go for it -- I can ID the team from the helmet. I could maybe make an exception if you change from one color to another, but please, no alternative logos. It never works.

BTW, I really like the jersey changes.

The helmets looked like a Jacksonville Jaguar. Bad artwork! The uni's are nice.
The Bears just wore their alternate helmet. It was blank.

I'm with you, Colonel. I like the alternative helmets. Done classy. Shiny outline on the matte black.

FYI... the alternate unis aren't for us 30-40-50 somethings. It's for the youngins and recruits. They eat this shit up. I'm just glad they look pretty good. I like the alternate black jerseys... I picked up a Venric Mark #5 one.

I have liked the N helmet from my earliest days. I have always thought it was distinctive.

+1. A yawning house cat. Matte black with the N would be better. Or just matte black with a stripe. That cat thing is just bad. The rest of the uni is good.

I'm calling bull on this one. I've never heard anyone look/remember/think well of any part of the Northwestern Uniforms from the late 60's through the mid 80's.

Plus, I absolutely love the alternative helmets that most schools have broken out (even Maryland's )

The Bears' alternate navy helmets with gray facebars and throwback 1940s style navy & orange jerseys were by design. It's my understanding the Bears didn't add the "C" to their helmets until around 1962.
