This is one reason why Cubs fans seem to think they're better than Sox fans. Here is a Sox fan saying no more games (the Cubs-Sox Series being the exception) while the Cubs fans continue to pack Wrigs to the rafters and they're within 3 games of each other. So, are all these Sox fans fair weather as Cubs fans catagorize them? We shall see as the season continues.

And your description of the crowds at Wrigley also serves as an explanation of why Sox fans think they're better than Cubs fans: They won't pack the house for losers.

It is a well established fact that much of the crowd is not there for the baseball. Like that dope that stuck his hands out over the basket. I would make a comment about him, but I fear being accused of insensitivity.
I miss the empty Wrigley of my youth. When you were glad they only had day games, because you did not really want to be around there at night. Far too many trendy asshats in attendance now.

I don't think I've been to a game in over 5 years for the reasons you just mentioned. That and the fact the organization and team is full of asshats too.

This is, by a very wide margin, the biggest lie in the history of Baseball.

I don't think so. There are lots of companies that buy tickets for their outings. My husband's will buy 20-40 tix. I'd say about 85% of the attendees I know skip work to go to the game and drink. Most aren't sure of the opponent and who is pitching that day.

The 3rd is that the NL Central is the weakest division in Baseball. Hard to believe when the last 2 NL WS teams were from the Central.

I'm sure he would strongly disagree with that

He probably would. He thinks he's the only person who belongs in the HOF.

This is why I can't stand the majority of sox fans. They complain about every dam thing. The hardccore sox fan is like the grumpy old man who used to yell at you for playing ball on his yard. They are only happy when you hit a ball into their yard and they take it and put it in the basement.

I am loving seeing WhiteSox nation crumble to the ground. Not because I am anti-sox, but because of the reaction from the so called Sox fans.

-Mac rather sit through a Harry comedy bit, then sit at a sox game

-M.North throwing Ozzie and his so called buddy Cooper under the bus.
It was just last year that North and Cooper where stroking each other talking about fishing, his family, baseball school and what a great job Coop does with the pitchers.

-The Cubs farm system outperforming the Sox by a large margin.

-A.Rowands grand slam

-K.Williams signing J.Vasquez over M.Buerle

-The team hitting under .240

-D.Ardesma adn the rest of the bullpen with the 8.00ERA

-Trading Garcia for some stiffs

-Sox last in the majority of hitting

:P

Sox fans, this quote is for you!

"wait until next year.!"

Glendale Heights Joe,
Sorry we don't have a goat, Dusty Baker and a dude in the stands to blame for almost 100 years of futility.

By the way, the 94 strike did ruin a legitimate shot for the White Sox, but after 2005, most Sox fans could care less now. The White flag trade sucked too. The upper deck used to suck at US Cellular, but it is better now.

I don't blame anything other than the players and the management for the Cubs woes but that's beside the point. All I am saying is that you should continue to support your team through thick and thin. Your team's finest hour was only two years ago.

im not gonna stop rooting for them or stop supporting them, and i dont think any sox fan here has said they were intending to do that.

we're just lowering the bar is all. this year is shot, so get rid of the guys that wont be back here next year for some prospects to take us to the promised land again in 09 or 10

I think Mac is the same lines as North, joke to have them associated as Sox 'fans'. And not because of thoughts on this year, just past events. Ride them high when they're winning, but take a jab every chance you get, as 'we' becomes 'them'. I remember I was near him once at a game and I didn't see any of the crap he was crying about the next day on the radio, about chants he heard, talking about always focusing on the Cubs, he probably heard one guy say 'Cub' and the next day he had his rant on Sox fans always the same, caring about the other team more (yeah because one guy is a good sample for the entire fanbase, and because someone mentioning them really shows they care about them more). And of course he's a hypocrite too as when the Sox are doing good, he throws in all the lame ass chest thumping jabs at the Cubs.

Of course you know you're going to get good solid analysis on the team when in the preseason, a Sox 'fan' uses them not allowing him to a spring training game as a basis to rip on the upcoming season of the club(I don't care if people rip the club, but the obvious reason in the offseason was his stupid station not getting to broadcast at ST. All of sudden he started to take it out on Sox fans with his furious 'It's going to be a tough long summer for you guys as your team is going to suck and the Cubs are going to dominate' ranting, very childish, really turned me away from the show).

it's a bit shortsighted to absolve kenny williams by saying that "NO ONE SAW THIS COMING" ...quite a few people picked the sox for 4th; and the lineup players seem to have tuned out ozzie's act after a few years of it. dye and konerko are aging; crede has apparently been playing hurt all year (contract issues withstanding) and guys like pierzynski, iguchi and uribe were just never all that good to begin with. darin erstad is just not good, and obviously was going to get hurt many times this year.

kenny talked a lot of shit about the cubs and mocked their offseason moves, so I think he deserves some of the blame for his complete overhaul of a bullpen that is absolutely awful (but wow, they throw really fast fastballs!) and the rather arrogant non-move of adding only erstad to a lineup that was overdue to regress to its normal output.

I agree the Sox are done and they seem to have quit on Ozzie and that's a bad sign . I love Ozzie but the way he has handled things during this cluster fuck shows me that he is not long for this job . He's come out and thrown his hitting coach , bullpen , GM , players , and dugouts under the bus but has not taken any of the the blame for what has amounted to a joke of a season .

I say tear it down and rebuild and have a fire sale and get some young players and make some big free agent signings in the off season .

I agree with Mac about the 2005 season.. All the planets aligned that year and they caught lightening in a bottle in the playoffs and caught a ton of breaks and it will be very hard to see the Sox repeat that great season.

I'll still go out to the remaining Sox games I have left and enjoy the games and to some peoples dismay I will turn my attention to the Cubs and cheer them on . I bleed silver and black but I root for Chicago and love baseball and if the Cubs can turn it on and get to the playoffs I 'll cheer for them .

I don't know if they have given up or just can't hit. They get like 5 hits a game, and when you're constantly 3 up, 3 down, it does look lifeless.
