Just beat AC:2 last night finally. Amazing game. Looking at the series, I see there are two releases between AC2 and AC3, Brotherhood and Revelations. Are these paramount to the story? Should I just buy AC3?

I was planning on getting AC3. Would it be better to at least play AC2 first?

I have been seeing a lot of commercials for part 3. Makes me want to buy a gaming system and play it.
Looks really cool and I love the Revolutionary War period. Curious if anyone has played it and if it is cool.

I enjoyed AC2 a lot more than AC1.

Every aspect of the game is significantly improved. Controls, visuals, killing options, weapons etc. If you don't feel like committing that kind of time, you can probably get by reading a few websites to just get the plot.

Gamestop had a used version of Brotherhood when I stopped in on a whim yesterday so I picked it up for 20 bucks. Messed around for about an hour. It's definitely more of the same in terms of AC2 but some slight tweaks in terms of controls and getting about town.

I'm kind of a plot guy, so I'm going to play through Brotherhood and Revelations before getting AC3.

Damn, they're selling used versions for more money than a new version? Wow Gamestop is a huge ripoff. The sooner they are out of business the better.

Didn't feel like waiting for a Glyde delivery. Difference in price was negligible.

I don't like buying used unless the price is WAY better...if it is a game I want to play, the dev and publisher should get some money for it. Newegg has Brotherhood for $19.99 shipped. I'd have waited the 3-4 days.

Revelations is on there for $28 shipped right now.

GF was busy last night. Had a prime time to play, couldn't pass it up

Makes sense.

I've gotta play less CS and Diablo so I can actually start progressing through my backlog. The beginning of 2013 is also going to have a lot of games I want to play. It really sucks that so many companies make good games these days. The PS1 era used to be so easy.

I know what you mean. It's a main part of the reason I really won't play through games 100%. I used to be the type to want to find all feathers/ collect and master all materia etc. I more or less play through games now just to move onto the next one.

AC: Brotherhood is awesome. Just the ability to recruit assassins and hit L2 and watch someone drop is great.

I feel the same way. I wonder if I'm just getting old or if there are just too many good games.

Did you like RDR that much? I thought it was only ok. Multiplayer was a bust.

So a couple days home sick with butt pee means Revelations is done. Lots of fun, but basically the same game from Brotherhood. Although the dungeons were very well done I thought.

Time to find a cheap used version of AC:3 or maybe I start Skyrim.

If you liked AC2 you will like the 2 middle games and yes they flesh out the story. Although not as much as i thought they should.
