is really a disgrace to the Bear uniform. I cannot think of a game this year where the guy hasn't had a monumental fuck up. Usually he has done one good thing in the game to let his missteps slide. Not this time. Five years on this team and the guy still cannot run a route nor get in an appropriate position to block. He really is an unnecessary part of the team at this point. Adams can catch the ball better than him. Spaeth is a better blocker. He is a guy living on only the possibilities his size presents...and he has the balls to talk about how he would have left if Martz was still here, as if that was an unthinkable option.

When he went down after dropping that ball over the middle, I kind of hoped he would just stay down......

It's not just that he sucks. It is pretty obvious that he puts in no effort to become a better player. He is essential the same monster sized TE with all the potential in the world who underachieved his way through college.

He does suck, but on the one interception, it wasn't his fault or Jay's fault. That should have been illegal contact. I don't see how the ref missed the DB continuously pushing him off his route. Refs gave the Bears a moon-pounding in general last night, IMO.

If you are 280, you don't get pushed off a route by a 180 lb DB with a little contact.

The guy sucked ass at Michigan State. It's not really a surprise that he still sucks ass.

Granted. Notice, I still contend he sucks. Still and all, the refs should not miss that call.

Marshall got away with arm bars against Joseph all night. No calls went both ways.

I liked that the refs were just letting the guys play. To many ticky tack pass interference and late hit penalties being called. The one on Cutler I agreed with, but I liked the no calls in the secondary all night.

Refs weren't the issue. The Bears fumbled the ball early, and the receivers dropped several passes that hit their hands. When your QB's don't make many good throws, you need to hang onto the ones where they do.

That's really it. Win the turnover battle and you win that game.

I never said the refs were the issue. I was just pointing out that they let 'em play.

Not even. Catch a few passes and score a touchdown and you probably win that game last night.

Well said....He's a waste of space and not a long term solution, I'd rather see Matt Spaeth in there or the kid Rodriguez....not one skillset does he bring to the team besides being a physically large piece of crap

I don't believe he's been as bad as some of you do but it is frustrating watching him play at times. He has a ton of potential but it rarely shows up.

How can you say this about Davis, and then this about Cutler?

Davis has hurt this team far more than Cutler has, and Cutler touches the ball every offensive play sans punts. Every game Davis does something terrible that really hurts the Bears.

The worst thing about Davis is it seems he can get open any time he wants. Then the ball gets thrown to him and it all falls apart.

He's open because teams know you don't have to guard him.

Cutler is the Franchise Player and Davis is just a guy. The expectations for Cutler are a lot higher. Just the fact that you can't understand the difference really validates my point. The excuses that are made for Cutler's below average play are really sad. Every team drops balls. I don't think the Bears players drop balls more than most teams in the league. He's gotten everything he wants and he still is playing below average football. He wanted the offense he had in Denver and he got most of it. He wanted Marshall and the Bears got him. He wanted Martz to go away and the Bears did that. He wanted Jeremy Bates and the Bears got him. He has a great defense. He has a top 5 RB and one of the best backup running backs in football. When do the excuses stop? Does everything need to be perfect around him?

Davis should be cut today. Bears should bring in Kellen Winslow Jr. for a tryout.

When did I make excuses in this thread, Nas? I simply pointed out that you are the first one to jump all over Cutler asking him to earn his check (and I don't disagree with you) but when it comes to guys like Hester and Davis you seem to turn a blind eye and make excuses for them.
Quote:
Davis is just a guy. The expectations for Cutler are a lot higher.
Now obviously there is a lot more expectations on your starting QB, but the Bears are giving Davis $3 million this year so obviously somebody expected something out of him.

I could say this exact same thing about Cutler, but I would be making excuses for him, right?

Agreed. Why fuck around. If healthy, Winslow should be hungry to prove he can still play in the league.

Cutler is the most important guy on the team. They will go as far as he takes them. Hester and Davis playing like shit just isn't as important as Cutler playing below average. I was extremely high on Cutler and this offense this season primarily because Cutler had everything he wanted. I thought he was Pro Bowl bound. This may be his worst season as a Bear. That's extremely disappointing to me. It because equally annoying when I read and hear all the excuses for him. He has to 5 talent but he's playing like a bottom 10 QB.
