I always like to have a little perspective thread after a Bear loss. The 49ers pushed, at home, coming off a bye against the Rams and gave up 24 points while letting Steven Jackson re emerge from the cave he has been hiding in for the season.

I said to myself I would be happy with the Bears going 1-1 against the Texans and 9ers. Problem with that now is that last night's game was very winnable for the Beloved despite the poor QB play and turnovers.

And I think any of us would have been perfectly fine knowing at this point we would be 7-2 and in 1st in the division. Perspective is a good thing

completely derivative. The only person of consequence on the Packer offense is Rogers. Everyone else is riding coattails.

You're right GD but for me Cutler doesn't give me any confidence in him. There was no excuse for his play yesterday. He had time to throw and still couldn't get the job done. I don't think I made the number of excuses for Grossman that have been made for him. Grossman clearly had less talent too. It's really embarrassing.

It was a game that they were in despite losing their starting QB, missing a FG and dropping a TD catch. I'm not worried about anyone in the NFL but Green Bay.

hey, tell me that jennings is gonna be out for awhile longer.... cobb has been a nice little fantasy football sparkplug in a 0.5ppr league, and he actually plays better with jordy nelson in there.

Here is my perspective. Bears lost to an AFC team which still keeps them in the running for best NFC record at the end of season tie breakers. Hopefully, they can rebound.

I'm not sure perspective is needed around here. Nobody seems too upset about the loss. It was in terrible conditions, against a great team, and you lost your QB halfway through the game. The line, which is easily the weakest spot on the team, played one of it's best games. The defense still looked really damn good. Bears are still 7-2 and as long as Cutler is ok they are every bit the contender they were 48 hours ago.

Bears are fine & on pace for my pre-season prediction of 12-4.

Perspective is still needed.

Horrible, HORRIBLE, performance tonight by everyone.

But still 7-3. Still right in the middle of the playoff race.

They will make the playoffs, but do you really expect them to do much when they run into a GB or SF? Even including the Houston game and the bad performance, it seems clear that you really 100% need Cutler at QB or forget it, and I'm a little worried that SF was able to gameplan so well against the Bears (and the Bears staff not be able to adjust) -- it may provide a blueprint of what to do to get past the Bears. If you are happy just getting to the playoffs, then you are going to have a good season... I'd be really surprised if they didn't win a wildcard bid.

Here is perspective-if the Bears play a mediocre team, they will probably win. If they play a good team, they will lose.

Yes, there's a good chance they will make the playoffs. they will be summarily dismissed and the season will be looked at as a success based on the sole fact they made the playoffs.

And nothing will change.

Bears would really have to try hard to miss the playoffs and they still have a great shot at winning the division.

At this point I'd be happy with a 2-2 finish. That will be enough to get into the playoffs too.

Nope. Orton is on a long term deal in Dallas. That wouldn't lead to him coming back here.

A perspective thread w/o a pic of Walter Jacobson is just wrong.
